Specialist GBS VAT Systems

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The mission of this department is to provide advice and technical support on all aspects of VAT for the customers for all markets. This department is also responsible for creating and maintaining VAT tables in SAP systems.

The Specialist GBS VAT systems will be accountable for managing the correct implementation and maintenance of the adidas Group VAT relevant SAP settings and other systems globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily activities such as advice in tax classifications for customers, vendors and materials
• Responsible for creating and maintaining tax codes in SAP system (e.g. VAT Rate Change)
• Responsible for creating and maintaining tax determination conditions in the SAP systems used by adidas
• Responsible for suggesting process improvements, and suggest new working processes within systems area to ensure efficiency and excellence, as well as support their implementation
• Support the implementation of indirect tax settings in SAP and other indirect tax system (e.g. implementation of new warehouses or S/4HANA set up)
• Support requests from Finance departments and other teams within GBS center
• Accountable for performing the financial controls over the work performed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge in VAT area
• Experience in SAP; Experience with maintenance of SAP VAT tables is an advantage
• Profficiency in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Advanced knowledge in MS Excel
• Experience in shared service center environment is a plus
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a business setting
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and high degree of customer orientation
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• Self-motivated and self-directed individual
• Availability to travel for periods of 1 to 3 weeks
• Strong customer focus and stakeholder management skills to interact with business partners
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a multi-team environment to achieve consensous decisions, always having adidas consistent growth in mind

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, finance, tax, legal or other related areas
• At least 2 years of progressive work experience in the area
