The FA are excited to be searching for a Special Projects Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality analytical support, in the form of conducting research, proposition design, Excel modelling & PowerPoint slide development, for the Grassroots 2040 programme, as a key member of the core programme team for the 2025-26 season.

What will you be doing?

Grassroots 2040 – Activity Delivery:

  • Support on designated Grassroots 2040 programme activities, particularly those within the modules related to a Licensing Agreement, Pricing Standardisation and County FA Operating Model Change
  • Conduct primary & secondary project research & data collection, whilst ensuring there is effective documentation, clarity on data sources and quality assurance on the integrity of information
  • Deliver Excel modelling for scenarios and business cases, ensuring that all data is robust, there is effective quality assurance of calculations and that the outputs of effectively displayed
  • Develop PowerPoint presentation materials that are well structured for storytelling, aligned to programme & FA standards and effectively communicate information
  • Participate in the delivery of communications, content and events to inform the County FA network, the National Game Board and wider stakeholders impacted by the Grassroots 2040 programme

Grassroots 2040 – Overall Support:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate, to support clear and consistent communication of the vision, objectives and requirements of the Grassroots 2040 programme
  • Act as a peer within the Grassroots 2040 programme core team, helping to develop ideas & hypotheses, undertaking quality assurance of others' work and acting as a sounding board for colleagues
  • Understand and advocate the benefits of the Grassroots 2040 project across the County FA network and with participants across grassroots football

Other:

  • Executes additional tasks as required to meet the FA's changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure that the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being can be maintained.
  • As part of the FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

What are we looking for?

Essential for the role:

  • Strong understanding of scoping, conducting and summarising research.
  • Strong experience of analysing and presenting data in various formats.
  • Experience of the governance, operations and activities within a County FA.
  • Experience of adopting a hypothesis-lead approach to problem solving.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Beneficial to have:

  • Understanding of core strategy frameworks and approaches.
  • Ability to think strategically and provide thought leadership.
  • Professional or voluntary experience working in grassroots football, or grassroots sports more broadly.
  • Experience working within a corporate strategy function or management consultancy.
  • Experience of client engagement on strategic projects or programmes.
  • Programme management qualification.
  • Prior expertise in delivering cultural and organisational change initiatives.
  • Collaboration skills and ability to influence across an organisation.
