As a software engineer, you will work in empowered, multidisciplinary teams, autonomously tackling complex challenges that provide the very best experiences and products for a growing community of millions of players as we build out an exciting and innovative customer experience within the fast paced and growing sports betting environment.

As and entry-level Software Engineer in Sportsbook focused on iOS native development, you will execute on defined tasks and contribute to solving problems. You will work on the scope of engineering team tasked to translate ideas into clearly written code, participate in code reviews, while maintaining high coding standards and overall quality.

When a successful solution is identified, you’ll help the team to build it for scale and longevity for our rapidly growing company. You will participate in the team’s various ceremonies, delivering sprint commitments, and will work with other Software Engineers and Quality Analyst on a product roadmap. Most importantly, you are a driven engineer seeking growth, collaboration, and are a passionate advocate for our customers. 

THE GAME PLAN

  • You will translate ideas into clear code, written to be read as well as executed
  • You’ll participate in code reviews and raise questions to help me learn the codebases and technologies relevant to my work.
  • You will be asked to write code that is free of glaring errors, well documented, and well tested with appropriate use of testing.
  • You’ll be expected to follow through on your sprint commitments, take responsibility for your work, and deliver thee work on time.
  • You’ll be expected to proactively share relevant information on your tasks, including difficulty level, status updates, and potential trade-offs that could impact a roadmap.
  • You’ll be expected to raise concerns when I am suspicious that there has been a regression in service, and I advocate for declaring an incident if a problem is found.
  • You can effectively collaborate and adopt necessary tools (e.g. pair programming) to get work done.
  • You will drive discussions with your manager about aspirational goals and seek out opportunities to learn and grow


THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Experienced and passionate about native development.
  • Technically proficient in iOS development (Swift, Xcode). Familiarity with Objective-C is a plus.
  • Knowledge of UI frameworks such as UIKit or SwiftUI.
  • Awareness of mobile performance optimization and memory management.
  • A fundamental understanding of data structures, algorithms, and networking(e.g., HTTP methods, status codes, JSON).
  • Basic knowledge of integrating and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs for dynamic data-driven applications
  • Familiar with various monitoring tools and testing practices (i.e static code analysis, Unit Testing, Manual, Automation testing) to ensure high standards around code and software quality.
  • Involvement working on an engineering team working within an Agile methodology; taking part in ceremonies such as Stand-up, Refinement, Sprint Planning, etc.
  • Experienced and comfortable with voicing opinions or concerns around things like bugs found, declaring a problem, offering suggestions on solutions, during problem solving discussions, etc.
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive. Demonstratable accountability for the work you commit to, and delivering it on time without jeopardizing the overall quality of the software.
  • Desire to learn and develop your skills through a growth mindset 
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.

We treat our team right

The applicable salary range for this position is $82,000 - $103,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
