WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
As a member of our team, you will collaborate with a dynamic group of developers, product owners, and cross-functional engineering teams at Nike. Your role will involve working closely with other developers to ensure best practices and industry standards are met through code reviews. Additionally, you will engage with multiple teams to build the future of sport by integrating various capabilities and data across the organization.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a prolific code contributor and will be expected to demonstrate code and product ownership. You will be responsible for advising product owners on technology-related business problems; formulating options and assessing their relative merits and risk to determine the best solution. You will work with other developers on the team, and through code reviews, ensure that all the work being done meets best practices and industry standards. You will be expected to write unit and e2e tests and will assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues escalated from customer support. You will work with multiple cross functional engineering teams at Nike to build the future of sport.
Academic background in computer science (BS or MS) or equivalent work experience
In-depth experience in Java 11+
6+ years’ experience developing highly scalable applications, APIs, and services in latest Java tech stack
Experience in micro service architecture, domain driven design, and RESTful Services using springboot
6+ years' experience with designing and tuning relational database (MySQL/PostGre) and non-relation DB (MongoDB, Dynamo DB).
Be a self-starter with a passion for technology and a burning desire to constantly improve yourself, the product, and the codebase
Experience using cloud services to build an integrated application in production (AWS - EC2, ECS, API gateway, Lambda).
Experience with implementing CI/CD and leading teams with DevOps responsibilities of deploying and supporting the software in production
Experience in writing test cases using Junit, load testing/performance benchmarking using JMeter or similar solution, writing e2e integration tests to ensure quality
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Strong in Java 11 +, Springboot 2+, Gradle 6+, Junit
MongoDB, DynamoDB, PostGre
GraphQL, RESTFul services
Docker, AWS – ECS, S3, SQS, Lambda
JMeter / any equvivalent load testing tools
Messaging frameworks - Kafka, SQS/SNS
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
Copywriting platform is envisioned to be key participant in realizing marketing technology initiative of modernizing the content planning ecosystem. As a content writing solution this platform will encompass many capabilities to serve product copy writing, marketing copy writing, localization AI powered content generation etc and will be integrated with several downstream systems.
Building new capabilities such as localization, workflow driven copy writing etc in the platform.
Building platform excellence in all non-functional pillars such as availability, observability.
Ensuring platform’s capability to handle voluminous data ingress and egress.
Hypercare of the platform after release of any capability / additional features.
Contributing ideas for new features and identifying technical areas for improvement proactively
Collaborating with other engineering teams to ensure effective integration of capabilities / data.
Following best engineering practices to continuously deliver working software.
