WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Release Engineering team is globally distributed in Beaverton, OR Netherlands and India, manages the Nike’s mobile CI/CD eco system, Retail store server management, Mobile application delivery to AppStore/PlayStore and Jamf MDM. The team collaborates with Development, Release Management, Apple/google support, vendors, and the broader engineering organization to standardize CI/CD platform usage, ensuring secure and seamless developer experiences across corporate and retail functions.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Nike is seeking a skilled and motivated Enterprise Systems Engineer II (DevOps) to drive innovation in Developer platform using IaC, Automation and AI/ML. This role will shape the future of mobile/retail platform ecosystems, Continuous Delivery, and collaborate across teams to enhance infrastructure and automation. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise, leadership experience, and a passion for improving platform efficiency and developer productivity.

  • Experience working and building with CI/CD (Groovy scripting) pipelines (Jenkins/ CircleCI/ GitHub Actions, etc.).

  • Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure

  • Should have 2-5 years of experience.

  • Hands-on experience with IaC using Ansible/Terraform and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

  • Build Docker images to environments, validating accuracy of assemblies and their delivery into the system infrastructure.

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer/ AWS Certified Solutions Architect is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) and Prometheus.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proven leadership in mentoring teams and driving technical initiatives.

  • Fastlane, Ruby experience is preferred.

  • Preferred: Familiarity with mobile app release practices and CI/CD pipelines, including the submission and review processes for the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will work on infrastructure, design, automation, and optimization of DevOps processes for mobile/retail platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. Collaborating with engineering, IT, and security teams, you’ll troubleshoot complex system issues, integrate tools, and drive infrastructure improvements. Your leadership will foster innovation, streamline workflows, and align technical strategies with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and maintain infrastructure-as-code and configuration-as-code for all environments.

  • Develop and maintain tools for operational tasks, system/data backup, disaster recovery, and performance/security monitoring.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system reliability and security.

  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to ensure the platform is responsive to developer needs: enabling fast iteration, efficient testing, and frictionless deployment.

  • Be comfortable troubleshooting network connectivity + diagnosing various server performance issues.

  • Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Define project roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and balance immediate needs with long-term goals.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance performance.

  • Influence technical direction and advocate for modern DevOps principles.
