Frostbite is EA's proprietary game engine. Its versatile technology power creation on some of the world's most iconic and visually stunning games, including titles from EA Sports and Battlefield. Frostbite provides a unified platform that empowers developers to create hyper-realistic worlds, intricate gameplay, and lifelike animations with unmatched speed and quality.

The Role

As Software Engineer at Frostbite, reporting to a Manager of Engine Development, you will contribute to Frostbite's goals of transforming software engineering and quality processes with the power of generative AI, agents and context engineering. You will collaborate with other engineers and technical leaders, and you will roll out solutions to hundreds of engine and game developers, resulting in better games.

Responsibilities

  • You will develop AI-based foundations and services that allow the Frostbite community to benefit from agentic developer workflows.

  • You will provide secure and scalable solutions for all stages of the software development lifecycle, including spec-driven coding, validation and releasing.

  • You will pilot new AI capabilities to assess their impact on developer efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of job experience in a hands-on coding role using languages like Python, C# or C++.

  • 1+ years of experience using generative AI software engineering solutions such as GitHub CoPilot.

  • Proficiency in good development practices (version control, code reviews) and validation (static code analysis, unit testing, CI/CD pipelines).

Bonus but not mandatory

  • Experience with ML, GenAI and LLM concepts and technologies like knowledge graphs, vector databases, context engineering, MCP, LangChain, or RAG.

  • Experience with observability of large data-driven services.

  • Experience cloud infrastructure providers like Azure.

  • Familiarity with game development processes.

This is a hybrid remote/in-office role. #LI-Hybrid
