Full Description
This rolel is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the NBA's social media presence in Brazil across platforms including WhatsApp Channel, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and Threads, and will drive fan engagement, grow the follower base, and develop a vibrant online community for the NBA in Brazil.
Major Responsibilities
- Manage and execute the social media strategy for NBA Brazil, ensuring alignment with NBA Global brand guidelines and NBA LATAM regional strategy.
- Oversee content planning, posting schedules, and real-time engagement on WhatsApp Channel, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and Threads.
- Lead community management efforts, fostering conversations, responding to fan DMs and comments, and nurturing a positive relationship with NBA followers.
- Create and execute a localized content strategy to connect the NBA with Brazilian fans, integrating cultural nuances to enhance fan engagement and grow social media presence.
- Monitor social media channels to ensure that all content aligns with the NBA's brand guidelines
- Drive follower growth by executing data-driven initiatives, engaging content, and targeted campaigns to attract new fans.
- Generate fan insights through data analysis and social listening, providing actionable recommendations to enhance content performance and engagement.
- Collaborate with content creators, influencers, and internal teams to create compelling, fan-centric content that resonates with NBA and Sports Brazilian fans.
- Track and report on key social media metrics (e.g., Engagement, Views, Hours Watched, Reach, Impressions, Followers), providing insights to improve results.
- Responsible for the community management and subscriber growth of NBA Brazil's WhatsApp Channels.
- Execute branded content integrations across NBA Brazil's social media and WhatsApp channels. Act as a liaison between the Marketing Partnerships, Content, and Marketing & Fan Engagement teams.
- Responsible for planning and implementing online fan data acquisition experiences (Tradable Bits / Jebbit) for NBA Brazil.
- Provided social media insights and reports to the NBA LATAM Senior Leadership Team.
- Work with the Content, Marketing, and fan Engagement teams to surface new or existing strategic content opportunities that are most relevant to a digital and social audience.
- Identify and share content trends and social platform enhancements that can improve team marketing efforts and drive innovative campaigns.
Required Skills/Knowledge
- Passionate about the NBA, players, teams, NBA ecosystem, and NBA/Basketball culture.
- Previous expertise working on a Digital Marketing Agency-side is ideal.
- Must have a solid understanding of the digital media ecosystem and existing social media platforms (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, X, Threads, Snapchat, Youtube and WhatsApp Channels) – Knowledgeable about social media metrics, content publishing strategy, and community management.
- Well-versed in social media metrics and previous knowledge of social media analytics, too (e.g., Emplifi, Rival IQ, Business Managers, Brandwatch).
- Fluent in managing multiple projects, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines across various media channels within a fast-paced work environment.
- Deep understanding of Brazil's digital culture, digital user behavior, social media trends, and social media consumption.
- Proven track record in implementing and/or supervising digital paid media campaigns.
- An analytical approach and ability to work with social media data to turn analytics into actionable insights.
- Comfort working in a complex matrix structure with minimum supervision to effect high-value and integrated outcomes.
- An advocate for the fan and passionate about delivering the best fan experience at any digital touchpoint.
- Strong writing and communication skills and ability to execute editorial judgment.
- Well-versed in Digital Marketing – certifications and/or courses will be considered.
- Open to work on nights and weekends.
- Fluent in English and Portuguese – Spanish is a plus.
Experience Needed
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in Digital, Performance, and Content Marketing.
- Demonstrated success in digital content publishing and social publishing experience for a world-class brand.
- Previous experience in sports marketing or digital media is a plus.
- Strong understanding of Brazilian media markets and shifting consumer entertainment consumption patterns.
Educational Background Required
- Bachelor's or master's Degree in the relevant field of study.
Salary Range: BRL 108,000 - 145,000
