Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The Sewer/Finisher Operator role leads and/or assists in the finishing of printed projects. The ideal candidate is friendly, observant, and able to represent our company in the best light possible. This role can communicate with other team members and offer opinions to add value to our company.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate equipment, following rules and training manuals.
• Complete projects within a specified timeframe while maintaining high levels of quality.
• Understand the instructions given by their supervisor fully.
• Check-in with supervisor and managers regarding job status, issues, and/or questions.
• Understand the documents that are associated with each order.
• Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and other management as required.
• Assist in print or other areas and "go where the work is"

Key Skills:

• Proficient at reading work orders and fully understanding verbal and written instructions.
• Dependable and energetic.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Trimming and cutting printed products on tables.
• Finishing of banners and fabric (sewing/welding).
• Operate laminating machine and mounter.
• Operate grommet machine.
• Know of and be able to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
• Able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers.
• Able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
• Ensure a clean and efficient work environment.
• Able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
• Read, write, speak and understand English.
• Experience in a sign/wide format print production environment.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 1 year experience required.
• A desire to deliver class-leading branding, wayfinding and signage.
• Willingness to follow department policies and procedures.
• A “hands on” “can do” attitude with an ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Reliable, punctual, presentable, enthusiastic, and have an honest, hard-working attitude.
• Ability to take direction and follow through with what is asked of you in a timely manner.
• Organized, intelligent, and a willingness to go beyond what is asked of you.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
• Ability to multitask.
