We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Development Technician to act as the top-tier technical expert for our state-of-the-art, fully automated Lightspray™ line in Zurich. You will be responsible for process optimization and standardization, new technology integration, and leading complex problem-solving initiatives to shape the future of manufacturing.

Your Mission

  • Act as the primary technical mentor and expert resource for the entire production team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Design, build, and manage the preventive maintenance plan and the spare parts strategy, ensuring long-term operational excellence.

  • Lead formal problem-solving teams using Root Cause Analysis for complex, system-level issues, pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

  • Set up, integrate, and validate new technologies and equipment on the production line, including all mechanical and electrical installation.

  • Program 6-axis robots for new spray paths, and set up, test, and troubleshoot new robot programs to unlock new capabilities.

  • Interpret and modify PLC logic, tune controllers, and perform expert-level diagnosis of electrical and control systems.

  • Lead safety risk assessments for new equipment and train the team on advanced safety topics.

Your story

  • You have extensive experience in a senior technical or engineering support role in a highly automated manufacturing environment, with proven collaboration skills.

  • You possess expert-level knowledge of robotics, PLC programming, control engineering, and complex mechanical/electrical systems.

  • You have a proven ability to lead cross-functional projects, manage maintenance strategies, and drive continuous improvement with an entrepreneurial mindset.

  • You have strong analytical skills and can analyze quality and performance data to identify systemic trends.

  • You demonstrate exceptional leadership and mentoring skills with a passion for developing technical talent.

  • You are fluent in technical English, with the ability to write professional, structured reports and fully comprehend complex technical documentation.

    The Case Study

    What's your style? This task will help us understand how you think, face a challenge and give insight into your novel ideas. Designed to give everyone their best shot, your case study is based on something you might typically experience on the job. This is your chance to show us what you’ve got. So express yourself.   • Step Five

    The Experience Day

    Your first taste of the Oniverse. This is a time to meet some of the people you'll be working closest with. In person or virtually, you'll get a feel for the day-to-day at On and the people who make it happen. You'll chat with a few potential teammates - the conversations will be as equally driven by the role and your experience as by our values. We believe how you do things is just as important as what you do.

    The Result
