Full Description
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
The role will be responsible for our Jordan entity accounting function and shall lead all operational, tax and accounting topics in compliance with internal and external regulations and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Accounting
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Perform month end closing in SAP and & CFIN
- Payroll accounting and reconciliations with SAP and government portal
- Monthly Balance sheet reconciliation
- Ensure accuracy of Balance sheet and P&L
- Prepare reconciliation of cost of sales
- IFRS 16 valuations and reconciliation for leases
Accounting reports & external submissions:
- Submit all quarter end and year end internal disclosures and reports
- Prepare, review, and analyze consolidated financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness with accurate ageing of accounts
- Capex tracking for all projects and retail stores to be aligned monthly with controlling
- Fixed asset management and physical count overview
- Maintain insurance contract renewals and submissions to external stakeholders
- Handle CBR reporting, Transfer pricing and Tax submission (VAT, withholding tax and Income tax)
- Declare and reconcile social security details per month
- Alignment with Real estate team to ensure accuracy of lease master data
- Overheads tracking and ensuring accuracy of cost allocation
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
- Ensure compliance of accounting policies and procedures
- Guidance to direct and indirect team on accounting treatment
- Ad-hoc requests for accounting, analysis and projects as requested
Internal & External audit
- Handle quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual audit
- Handle all inventory, customs, external audit, internal audit and tax audits
Controlling:
- Measure progress on own & team KPIs.
- Monitor Legal entity and retail P&L accuracy
- Ensures adherence to group accounting policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
IT skills
- Outlook: intermediate
- Word: intermediate
- Excel: advanced
- SAP: intermediate experience is preferred
Language skills
English (written and verbal)
Arabic (written and verbal)
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree in finance, preferably ACCA or CA
- Ideally with a qualified accounting background
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Experience in team management and external audits
- Experience in dealing with tax, customs and external audits
