We're looking for a Software Engineer – Roku to help build and improve our Roku application. You'll work on features that fans use every day, from finding the sport they love to enjoying a seamless live streaming experience.

This is an opportunity to develop your engineering skills, work with experienced engineers and contribute to a product used by sports fans around the world.

The Role

As a Software Engineer – Roku, you'll help design, build, test and maintain features across DAZN's Roku application, with a focus on user interface and video playback experiences.

You'll work closely with Senior and Staff Engineers, Product, Design, QA and Platform teams to deliver reliable, user-friendly features that meet both customer needs and Roku platform standards.

You'll contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from understanding requirements and writing code through to testing, debugging and releasing features.

You'll also have the opportunity to explore new engineering tools, including AI-assisted development, while continuing to build your technical expertise.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Develop, test and maintain features for DAZN's Roku application, focusing on high-quality user interfaces and video playback experiences.
• Build UI components, screens and customer journeys in line with product requirements, design guidance and Roku platform standards.
• Help improve application performance, stability, accessibility and usability across supported Roku devices and operating system versions.
• Integrate backend services, playback APIs, analytics and experimentation capabilities to support the wider customer experience.
• Investigate and resolve defects relating to UI behaviour, playback quality, application stability and device-specific issues.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code, following engineering standards, secure development principles and code review practices.
• Collaborate with Senior and Staff Engineers, Product, Design, QA and Platform teams to understand requirements, estimate work and deliver agreed features.
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD processes, technical documentation and the ongoing improvement of our development practices.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to support coding, testing, debugging and productivity, while maintaining ownership of code quality and security.

What You'll Bring:

• Experience developing applications or features for Connected TV, streaming, mobile, web or embedded platforms. Roku, BrightScript or SceneGraph experience would be advantageous.
• An understanding of UI development principles, including component-based development, navigation, responsiveness, accessibility and consistent user experience.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of video playback concepts, streaming quality, error handling and troubleshooting playback-related issues.
• Practical experience with software testing, debugging, version control, code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in an Agile environment and collaborating with engineers, QA, Product, Design and other technical teams.
• Familiarity with AI or LLM-based development tools and an interest in using them to improve coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
• An understanding of responsible AI usage, including validating generated code, protecting data and maintaining security and engineering standards.
• Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn, take feedback and develop your technical capabilities.
