The annual base salary for this position ranges from $149,900.00 in our lowest geographic market to $316,000.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The GPS Places Team serves employees, vendors and the business by delivering best-in-class experiences that attract and retain talent. The team is composed of five critical functions: program operations, real estate, standards, program management, and design. Design—inclusive of architecture and brand—directly manages a diverse, global real estate portfolio by leveraging location-focused capabilities. This candidate will report to the Global Design Director, developing location-focused strategies, and driving design execution with the support of global vendors including architecture, engineering, and brand agencies.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
GPS Places is looking for a Senior Principal West to lead the design operations across EMEA, and supporting North America operations.
If this is you, you will:
Design ownership for all phases of commercial projects including programming, space planning, concept design, technical documentation, finish specification, and construction administration.
Lead business stakeholder and external vendor presentations, vendor interviews, and general global representation.
Manage the production of design deliverables including: architectural drawings, brand packaging, mock ups, technical documentation and FFE specifications.
Ensuring project delivery is organized to ensure the schedules and budgets are maintained.
Collaborate closely with regional Nike offices and leadership to drive business development initiatives.
Identify and manage strategic vendors, beginning with program definition through building activation.
Deliver cross-functional alignment with internal teammates in Real Estate, Operations, Program Management, Food Services, Security, Technology, and Sport.
Directly report to the Americas Environments Design Director; inform and provide real-time updates on projects.
The candidate will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
Location/base to New York office required. Approximately 20% of time will include travel to EMEA (Hilversum, London) and North America.
Licensure of NCIDQ or Registered Architect.
10+ years of experience in the design of architecture and commercial interior projects, inclusive of workplace strategy, environmental branding, and facilities management.
Highly proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam and PowerPoint. Experience using 3DS Max, Rhino, Grasshopper, or Enscape is a plus.
Expert storyteller, possessing strong communication skills with the ability to be articulate the design vision and be convincing to a diverse audience.
Passion for nurturing creative vendors and teammates, while demonstrating the ability to lead by example.
Develop and cultivate strategic partnerships with internal executive leadership, municipality officials, external vendors, project and facilities and management.
Advanced knowledge of the architectural planning and design process, code requirements and design of building systems—structural, MEP, fire/life safety.
Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices required. Experience must include completed works that focus on sustainable solutions, carbon neutral goals, WELL/Fit/LEED accredited projects, and/or net-zero design.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will approach projects with a strategic mindset, focusing on workplace innovation and honoring the brand’s heritage.
You will be responsible for project delivery across all phases of design and construction, including: programming, concept design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration).
You will manage external creative partners to deliver a clear, design vision while remaining compliant with the project schedule and budget.
You will be expected to organize site visits to interview key business stakeholders, survey existing building conditions, and facilitate the project delivery of our external vendors.
Construction coordination across all trades (architecture, brand, engineering, structural, AV/IT). The project scope will drive the participation of each trade.
Clear communication with internal business partners and GPS teammates will be required to meet the key business goals and experiences.
