SENIOR MARKETING CAMPAIGN MANAGER - (CONTRACT - 3 MONTHS)
LOCATION: Manchester
At Manchester United, we believe that excellence on the pitch starts with excellence off the pitch. Our team thrives in a high-performance environment, united by a shared passion for success. We aim to elevate the standard of performance through collaboration and continuous growth, creating a space where everyone can contribute their best to our common goals.
We work together at our iconic Manchester United offices, enabling connection and innovation as we look ahead to what we can achieve as a global football club. We are excited to bring in passionate people who share our vision and drive for success.
The Purpose:
This is a 3 Month Contract Day Rate Position
Manchester United is one of the most successful and popular sports clubs in the world. More than just a football club, we are a global community of fans, driven by passion and united by ambition.
We are committed to delivering the world’s best end-to-end fan experience across every product, platform and touchpoint. As Senior Campaign Manager, you will put the fan at the centre of our brand storytelling. You’ll lead the strategy and execution of major campaigns that elevate our products, deepen fan relationships, and drive commercial performance.
The Role:
Supporting the Head of Consumer Marketing, the Senior Campaign Manager is a strategic leadership role within the central marketing team, responsible for planning and delivering integrated marketing campaigns across key club moments. You’ll lead the full campaign process — from insight and ideation through to execution and evaluation — across major fan-facing initiatives including the Manchester United App, Membership, Ticketing, United Store, MUTV and Hospitality.
You’ll work closely with brand, digital, content and commercial teams, acting as the driving force behind club-wide activations. This role is ideal for someone with strong marketing strategy experience, creative vision and a proven ability to lead large-scale campaigns across complex organisations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the end-to-end delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns, ensuring strategic alignment, creative excellence, and performance accountability.
- Lead major campaigns such as kit launches, seasonal activations, and commercial partner integrations — setting clear objectives, timelines, and KPIs.
- Build robust campaign plans across the full marketing mix including owned, earned, and paid channels — spanning digital, social, CRM, retail and experiential.
- Write compelling and strategic campaign briefs across content, creative, media and CRM workstreams to bring fan products and brand moments to life.
- Lead cross-functional workstreams with internal stakeholders, ensuring all departments align behind a shared creative and strategic vision.
- Oversee agency and production partners to deliver assets on time, on brand and on budget.
- Monitor and optimise campaign performance using data-driven insights to continuously improve effectiveness.
- Contribute to long-term planning and the club’s global marketing calendar.
- Present campaign plans and performance updates to senior leadership.
- Line manage Campaign Managers, supporting their growth and development.
The Person:
We are looking for someone who has:
- 5+ years’ experience in campaign or marketing roles, with proven success delivering integrated campaigns at scale, ideally within sport, entertainment or consumer brands.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, creative briefing and stakeholder management.
- Ability to lead complex projects and campaign ecosystems across multiple departments and agencies.
- Highly organised, with exceptional attention to detail and deadline management.
- Strong analytical skills — able to use data to inform decisions and optimise performance.
- A confident communicator, presenter and cross-functional leader.
- A passion for football and fan culture is highly desirable.
- Self-starter with a positive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams and collaborative planning tools.

We are committed to building a team where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives.
