Full Description

As the Senior Manager, Strategic Operations Payments at Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG), you will be responsible for supporting the growth and development of the Payments team through detailed analysis of data to optimize processing performance and reduce payments fees. This role will work closely with the Director of Payments to drive innovation, efficiency, and excellence across all payment processes, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and alignment with business objectives. You’ll be expected to build strong relationships with our external payment providers ensuring commercials are competitive and that we are benefiting from all potential features and functionalities offered. The ideal candidate will be extremely analytical with a keen eye for detail and possess deep expertise in the digital payments ecosystem, an understanding of regulatory frameworks, and exceptional stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of Payments to define the payments strategy of FBG.
  • Analyze payments performance data in order to optimize success rates and overall cost of payments.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify dependencies, plan customer journey action items and backlog, and deliver on core goals.
  • Collaborate on defining Key Performance Indicators and drive competence and efficiency through payment optimization in conjunction with vendors/product.
  • Produce monthly packs to illustrate the performance of each method (deposits, withdrawals, fees) and provide key insights to the business.
  • Develop solid relationships with Payment Providers and Partners.
  • Setting up regular calls and meetings with providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Gathering details of the planned development and roadmap items to ensure our product roadmap is aligned.
  • Provide input and guidance to the ongoing development and updating of our standard operating procedures and processes ensuring a consistent level of performance and quality.
  • Apply subject matter expertise (Payments/Gaming) to optimize payment processes and technologies (e.g., gateways, ACH, Wire, Credit & Debit cards, Digital Wallets).
  • Manage vendor relationships while serving as subject matter expert on gaming-based payments, and being engaged with innovators in this space.
  • Quarterback critical site issues and escalate to the proper channels to ensure a speedy resolution and clear key stakeholder updates. 
  • Work with various business leaders to accomplish key business initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or strategic operations at a top-tier firm or high-growth company.
  • Advanced hands-on SQL and Excel modeling experience with the ability to own complex operational forecasting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and rigor, with the ability to dive deep into data while communicating insights succinctly to senior leadership.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and are excited by the challenges that come along with building a disruptive and dynamic business.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to articulate business performance, key strategies, and regular updates into Google suite applications (Google docs, sheets and slides) that tell a powerful story.
  • Deep empathy for customer experience – always analyzing and assessing from the customers’ viewpoint.
  • Conscious and supportive of diversity & inclusion, and the value they bring to customers, business, and the team.
  • Collaborative, while firm on goals and driving the extended team toward actions (and deadlines) to achieve them.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in online Payments and Sportsbook/Casino.
  • Knowledge of, and experience using, proprietary online gaming Fraud, Payments, Gaming and Sportsbook tools, systems, and reports preferred.
  • Familiarity with operational KPIs across payments, fraud, or customer service workflows.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Sigma or Tableau.
