JOB OVERVIEW:
THE•TEAM is seeking a creative, organized, and experienced Sr. Experiential Operations Manager to join our team of event professionals in delivering best-in-class experiences for our clients. The Sr. Experiential Operations Manager’s primary responsibility will be planning, managing, and executing events in the U.S. and abroad. This role will also partner with colleagues to grow new and existing client relationships.
The Sr. Manager will serve as the lead point of contact for clients and will delegate roles and responsibilities to event staff as needed for each project. Primary responsibilities include the conception, creation, and execution of motorsports-specific tours, as well as managing all budgets associated with activations. This role will also support other Experiential Operations Managers and departments as needed during off-seasons.
Due to the nature of event delivery, this role will require travel up to 65%.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Pre-Event Planning:
Serve as a liaison between clients, vendors, and other THE•TEAM departments
Create and manage budgets for each event activation
Manage internal project leads as assigned
Lead team communications during weekly calls
Develop detailed timelines for team members, vendors, and clients
Conduct venue and vendor research
Create presentations and proposals outlining event layouts
Conceptualize and manage artwork design and production
Partner with appropriate departments to determine technical, logistical, and operational needs based on client objectives
Prepare activation materials and coordinate with logistics and operations teams for deployment
Manage inventory and assets
Attend site visits for proposed venues
On-Site Event Management:
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients to ensure goals and objectives are met
Communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of event activations
Manage and direct on-site staff and vendors
Assist with setup and teardown of event activations
Oversee operational logistics plans, including the loading and unloading of event assets (e.g., tie-downs, safe loading procedures)
Plan and manage team travel to and from event sites
Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
3+ years of event production or event management experience required; 5+ years preferred
Strong active listening skills, with the ability to fully understand and respond appropriately
Strong communication skills across a wide range of stakeholders and departments and ability to effectively communicate with operations, logistics, and technical production staff
Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to evaluate solutions and make sound decisions
Strong time management and project management skills
Experience coordinating, guiding, and advising others and ability to supervise a crew of 10-20 people
Ability to negotiate contracts with clients and vendors and make cost-conscious decisions aligned with company and vendor budgets
Strong creative thinking skills, with the ability to translate client concepts into impactful event activations
Ability to develop and maintain constructive, cooperative working relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams
Ability to quickly learn new software systems
Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and handle frequent interruptions while maintaining a positive attitude
Ability to adapt to new people, demands, and environments
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to use power tools and operate forklifts (training provided)
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
