Your mission

At PUMA, we’re not just building a finance function, we’re shaping the backbone that supports our growing Oceania business across Australia and New Zealand. As our new Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll step into a high‑ownership role that acts as the key support and 2IC to our Senior Manager Financial Reporting.

Your Role - Where You’ll Make an Impact

To set you up for success, here’s a clear look at how you’ll contribute and the value your work will drive across the business.

Financial Control & Reporting (50%) — Own the Backbone of Our Reporting Landscape

You’ll take charge of core financial accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of monthly results, year‑end processes, and reporting across both the Australian and New Zealand entities.
Your responsibilities include:

  • Preparing accounting journals including accruals, provisions, inventory & COGS

  • Supporting cashflow forecasting and reviewing purchase orders with the AP team

  • Driving month‑end close to meet regional and global deadlines

  • Preparing year‑end files and supporting statutory financial statements

  • Completing intercompany reconciliations and charges

  • Maintaining timely, accurate Balance Sheet reconciliations

  • Overseeing tax invoice reviews and ensuring correct fixed asset treatment

Statutory & Compliance (40%) — Be the Guardian of Governance

You’ll be the point of excellence across our statutory obligations and compliance framework, ensuring PUMA meets all local and international standards.
This includes:

  • Reviewing and submitting BAS & FBT returns

  • Preparing tax effect accounting calculations, income tax returns and tax computations

  • Completing withholding tax (PAYG / PAYE) lodgements

  • Supporting transfer pricing documentation

  • Liaising with external tax consultants and regional tax teams

  • Ensuring payroll tax compliance for ambassadors and contractors

  • Supporting external audits and completing internal audit requirements

Process Improvement & Automation (10%) — Help Us Work Smarter

Finance at PUMA is evolving — and you’ll be at the forefront of modernising our systems, workflows, and reporting processes.
You’ll:

  • Identify opportunities for automation

  • Introduce smarter, more efficient reporting solutions

  • Enhance reliability and scalability across the finance function

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who combines technical depth with a sharp, solutions‑focused mindset.

Experience & Education

  • CPA/CA qualified

  • 3+ years’ professional services experience

  • 1–2+ years’ experience within an industry role (preferred)

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability

  • Exceptional organisation and process discipline

  • Resilient, adaptable, and commercially tuned

  • Advanced Excel and general MS Office skills

  • Knowledge of AU/NZ taxation and accounting standards
