THE POSITION
The Facility Manager is responsible for managing our global facilities operations, ensuring safety and environmental standards, maintain facility budgets and managing vendor relationships. facility-related projects, including renovations, construction, space planning, and infrastructure upgrades. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to the FIFA's quality and safety standards. The Facility Project Manager will work under the supervision of the Head of Campus Services & Logistics and closely with internal teams, external contractors, and vendors to coordinate all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning and design through execution and completion.These are your key tasks:

  • Project Planning & Execution:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for facility-related projects,
    • Lead and manage facility projects such as office renovations, site expansions, facility upgrades and space optimization on a global scale,
    • Coordinate with the Head of Campus Services & Logistics, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are clearly defined and met.
  • Budget & Cost Management:
    • Create and manage annual budgets for facilities operations across regions, tracking expenses to maintain fiscal responsibility,
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards,
    • Track expenses and report on financial performance, ensuring that projects and day-to-day business remain within approved budgets.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management:
    • Source and manage external vendors and contractors, ensuring timely delivery of services and materials,
    • Negotiate contracts, oversee contractor performance, and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs),
    • Monitor work progress, ensuring that it adheres to agreed-upon schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Facility Operations Management:
    • Manage day-to-day operations for all company facilities including space planning, janitorial services, cleaning, technical building services, parking, reception, catering and other facility related services,
    • Ensure the building is clean, well-maintained, and safe for all employees and visitors,
    • In coordination with the Head of and respective Team Leads implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for all building systems and equipment.
  • Maintenance & Repairs:
    • Oversee with dedicated Team Leaders the timely and efficient repair of building systems, office equipment, and grounds,
    • Develop and maintain an asset management system to track the life cycle of building equipment and infrastructure.
  • Space Management:
    • Oversee space planning and utilization to ensure efficient use of office and warehouse spaces,
    • Collaborate with other departments to optimize facility layouts to meet evolving business needs,
    • Coordinate office moves, renovations, or reconfigurations as required.
  • Sustainability Initiatives:
    • Champion sustainability in all facility projects, driving initiatives for energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource conservation,
    • Collaborate with the sustainability team to achieve carbon reduction targets and other green certifications.

The specific competencies we require for this position are:

  • 8+ years of experience in facility management, with at least 3 years in a global or multi-site role,
  • Proven experience in project management, including facility expansion, construction, and large-scale maintenance initiatives,
  • Experience in the Sports industry is an advantage,
  • Bachelor degree or similar higher education in Facility Management,
  • Willingness to travel globally as needed (approximately 20-30%),
  • Resilient, self-driven, pro-active and flexible Client oriented, efficient and effective,
  • Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams and working in a matrixed, global environment,
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills,
  • Proficient in Word / PowerPoint / Excel,
  • Good knowledge in CAD is an advantage,
  • Fluent in English,
  • Proficiency in German and/or French is an asset.
