Become a Part of the NIKE, Inc. Team

NIKE, Inc. does more than outfit the world’s best athletes. It is a place to explore potential, obliterate boundaries and push out the edges of what can be. The company looks for people who can grow, think, dream and create. Its culture thrives by embracing diversity and rewarding imagination. The brand seeks achievers, leaders and visionaries. At NIKE, Inc. it’s about each person bringing skills and passion to a challenging and constantly evolving game.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

This role sits within Nike’s Sport Performance Apparel Color Design team, partnering closely with Apparel Design, Graphics, Print, Product Management, Merchandising, and Development. The position reports to the Color Design Director and collaborates across the design triad to shape color excellence at both the product and collection level.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Nike is looking for a Senior Color Designer who blends creativity, technical mastery, and instinct to elevate performance apparel through the power of color. This person understands how color sparks emotion, drives narrative, and influences culture. They stay tuned into athlete insight, sport-style trends, and the evolving landscape of apparel, color, and material innovation.

They are a strong communicator, a strategic thinker, and a natural collaborator who builds resonant, narrative-rich color stories. They bring deep expertise in color technology—materials, dyes, finishes, and achievability—and know how to translate research and storytelling into compelling, actionable palettes. They lead with curiosity, embrace iteration, and navigate change with confidence.

This posting serves as an evergreen requisition for two Senior Color Design positions within Apparel Design. Candidates may be considered for any active openings attached to this requisition.

  • To be considered, you must submit a creative design portfolio. Please provide website links or attach pdf files when you apply.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic, textile or product design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technically challenging color design roles
  • High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Keynote
  • Expertise in color technology, materials, dyes, finishes, and color achievability
  • Passion for storytelling, athlete insight, and women’s performance trends

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You’ll create narrative-driven seasonal color concepts that shape the future of Performance Apparel for both men’s and women’s collections. You’ll use research, consumer insight, and color craft to bring trend-relevant product stories to life across the line.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with Apparel Design, Graphics, Print, Product Management, Merchandising, and Development to build cohesive seasonal color direction
  • Create color palettes and flows that align with category strategy
  • Conduct in‑depth research across sport, fashion, art, and culture to inform color decisions
  • Present compelling seasonal color proposals to internal and external audiences
  • Review samples, troubleshoot color execution challenges, and drive accuracy from concept to manufacturing
  • Support cross-functional designers with color expertise outside your assigned load when needed
  • Lead yourself and teammates confidently through change, iteration, and ambiguity
