WHO WE ARE

Accessories Innovation Design explores the future of Nike Accessories & Equipment through product innovation, material exploration, athlete insights, and rapid experimentation. This role sits at the intersection of Design, Innovation, Development, and Product Creation. We are looking for a designer who is curious, hands-on, and passionate about creating new solutions that elevate athlete and consumer experiences. You will help shape future opportunities, transform emerging ideas into tangible concepts, and contribute to the long-term evolution of Nike Accessories & Equipment.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will work closely with a broad team of partners, including Product Design, Product Development, Materials Design, Engineering, Product Management, Innovation Teams, and external manufacturing and technology partners.

Success in this role requires strong collaboration, communication, and the ability to bring diverse teams together around a shared vision.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a designer who combines strong creative thinking with the ability to turn ideas into reality. The ideal candidate is comfortable leading projects, building alignment across teams, and navigating the journey from early exploration through execution. They are passionate about innovation, materials, product creation, and emerging digital workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, or a related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience & training.
  • 5+ years of relevant product design experience
  • Experience in accessories, equipment, footwear, or related consumer product categories
  • Strong product design, visualization, and storytelling skills
  • Strong understanding of materials, construction methods, and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to translate athlete and consumer insights into meaningful product solutions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage projects with a high degree of ownership and autonomy
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining project momentum
  • Comfortable working within evolving and ambiguous spaces

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in 3D design and visualization tools
  • Experience using 3D workflows to explore, communicate, and validate concepts
  • Experience creating digital and physical prototypes
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping methods, including 3D printing and model making
  • Experience leveraging digital tools to accelerate concept development and communication
  • Curiosity for emerging technologies, evolving creative workflows, and new design methodologies
  • Knowledge of sustainable materials and circular design principles

Portfolio Requirement

Candidates must submit a portfolio demonstrating innovation thinking, product problem-solving, concept development process, material exploration, prototype creation, 3D visualization capability, and final product execution.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

Innovation Concept Development

  • Explore future opportunities for Accessories & Equipment
  • Generate innovative concepts informed by athlete and consumer needs
  • Identify unmet needs and develop meaningful product solutions

Material & Technology Exploration

  • Research emerging materials, technologies, and manufacturing methods
  • Translate innovation opportunities into tangible product concepts
  • Partner with development and materials teams to evaluate feasibility and potential impact

Prototyping & Validation

  • Create digital and physical prototypes to rapidly explore ideas
  • Iterate concepts through testing, feedback, and learning
  • Utilize visualization tools to communicate concepts clearly and effectively

Project Leadership

  • Lead innovation projects from early exploration through concept validation
  • Independently lead small-to-medium innovation initiatives from opportunity identification through concept validation
  • Help shape project direction within evolving opportunities
  • Build alignment across teams and stakeholders throughout the innovation process
  • Drive projects forward with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

Storytelling & Communication

  • Develop compelling innovation narratives and presentations
  • Create visual materials that inspire teams and leadership
  • Clearly communicate the rationale, value, and future potential behind concepts
