About the group 

CAA’s Agency Operations team partners withDepartmentBusiness Leadershipto helpdrivethebusiness andachieve operationalobjectives.TheAgencyOperationsteamgoalis tomore effectively and efficiently (1) communicate the goals and priorities of the agencyto Departmental leadership, (2)provide visibility,monitor,and help drive business results and (3) uncover new growth opportunities and potential areas of exposure.

The Role 

CAA isseekinga highly analyticalSeniorAssociate,AgencyOperationsto support and help drive financial and operational rigor acrossCAA’sdepartments, with a specific focus on the Technology department. Reporting directly to theVP, CorporateOperations, this role will serve as a key finance and strategy partner to Technology leadership and selected corporate stakeholders.

TheSeniorAssociate will own coreTechnology Finance elements, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and reporting, while also supporting operations,consolidation,strategic analysis, and cross-functional initiativesacross allCorporategroups at the agency. This role is ideal for a candidatewith 5+years of experience in investment banking,FP&A,or a similarly rigorous finance environmentand is eager to expand beyond pure finance into broader operationalexposure.

Responsibilities 

TheAssociates primaryresponsibilities include the following:

  • Technology Finance and OperationsOwn and support core financial planning processes for the Technology organization, providing clear financial visibility and decision support to Technology and Corporate leadership.

  • Prepare a detailed annual plan and mid-year reforecast submission for theCAATechdepartment encompassing both operating and capital expenses

  • Review and verify budget detail across several dimensions (e.g., vendor, contractor, project, T&E, addback)

  • Maintain and enhance aholistic Technology financial model, incorporating actuals, forecasts, and scenario analysis

  • Partner with Technology leadershipand sub-department budget ownersto review monthly financial performance, explain variances, and update rolling forecasts

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc financial processes, including:

  • Actuals vs. forecast analysis (opexand capex)

  • Coordination with Accounting on reclasses, rebills, addbacks, and proper financial treatment

  • Deliver clear, decision-orientedfinancial reporting and metricsthat drive accountability and continuous improvement across Technology

  • Support financial aspects of Technology vendor management, including:

  • Purchase order creation and approvals for hardware and software

  • Order fulfillment on partner portals for select vendors

  • Advise and support new vendor onboarding in partnership with Accounts Payable

  • Contract financial reviewandevaluation of new vendor agreements

  • Corporate & Agency OperationsContribute financial and analytical support to broader corporate and agency operational initiativesincluding recurring reporting, year-end processes, and ad-hoc analyses thatsupport management decision making.

  • Become a go-to financial and operational resource for Agency Operations Leadership

  • Buildhigh-qualityexcel models and power point presentations from scratch that effectively communicate/summarize complex analysiswhile focusing on delivering actionabletake-aways

  • Prepare andmaintainmonthly and quarterly corporate reporting packagesbyconsolidatinginputs from Technology and other departments, including:

  • Department-level financial performance(opexand capex,actuals vs. budget/reforecast)

  • Key operating metrics,trendsand variance explanations

  • Identifyopportunities for cross-functional process improvementsfor allCorporatedepartments

  • Partner with Technology,Financeand other stakeholders to improve data quality and visibility

  • Apply business judgment and financial insights toassistwith decision making related to new initiatives, products, and business opportunities

  • Cultivate relationships within Corporate and the assigned Divisions to build a robust communication network

  • Leverageinternal and external dataand systemstodevelop automation of recurring analysis

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degreerequiredwith aconcentrationin Business,Finance,Economicsor other quantitative disciplinepreferred.  

  • 5+yearsofInvestmentBanking,FP&A,orother fields with detailed modeling experiencerequired

  • Strong finance foundation including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis

  • Entertainment industry experience preferredbut not necessary

  • Experience working with or supporting a Technology organization, including understanding of IT spend, vendors and capitalized projectspreferred but not necessary

  • Advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Exceland Power Pointrequired

  • Attention to detail, the ability to present analysis at the executive level, strong workethicandcomfort with ambiguity

  • Applicant mustpossessexceptionaltime management, decision-making,critical thinking, interpersonal andstrongcommunicationskills

  • Ability to be trusted with confidential informationrequired
     

Location

This role will be hybrid, located in our Los Angeles office.

Compensation

The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $120,000 to $150,000. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
