The Senior Archive Producer will be responsible for sourcing and consulting on all archive use for a high-profile global luxury brand. This position is based in Paris, where it is embedded within one of our client partner agencies.  The primary responsibility will be to support the Paris-based creative team by acting as the key link between them and our London-based Research & Rights team.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Source and manage archival materials, securing the best creative solutions for projects, including footage, news clips, viral videos, photographs, audio recordings, documents, and other relevant materials.
  • Work with creative teams and producers to consult on archive use across the development and production of advertising and branded content, advising on best practice, legal limitations, and offering creative solutions for production challenges.
  • Develop expertise in key sports including golf, tennis, and equestrianism.
  • Become an expert on the client’s heritage, brand values, and relationships, using this knowledge to advise teams on how archive can be leveraged for content creation.
  • Undertake proactive research, continually assembling archive bins with up-to-date federation and sporting archive, as well as archive from other relevant sources for upcoming creative briefs.
  • Understand footage formats to assess archive footage quality.
  • Build strong interagency relationships across partner agencies and internal teams.
  • Keep across industry trends and key players who may be beneficial to future projects.
  • Bring your archive knowledge into creative ideation sessions to help shape storylines and creative briefs.
  • Analyse licensing and usage risk, supplying a tiered risk assessment of all supplied archive to guide editorial decisions.
  • Report weekly to the Head of Research & Rights, providing updates on risks, opportunities, and project statuses.
  • Deliver and ensure best practice in motivating and appraising indirect reports, including Researchers and Rights Coordinators.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the brand values, ethos, and strategic vision of the client and their partner agencies.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven experience working as an Archive Producer on commercial projects, including sourcing “hidden gem” footage, analysing licensing risk, negotiating with rights holders, and managing budgets.
  • Previous experience working with creative and advertising production agencies and key client stakeholders.
  • Experience working both collaboratively within a team and in leadership roles.

  • Working proficiency in both French and English.
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent administrative, organisational, and time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Calm, adaptable, and professional approach, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage changing priorities.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time 6 month fixed-term contract
  • This role is based in Paris, with occasional flexible working. Weekend and unsocial hours may be required to meet deadlines
  • A two-week induction will take place in London at the start of employment (travel and expenses covered).
  • Travel may also be required to IMG’s London offices in Chiswick and Stockley Park (travel and expenses covered)
