Achieving our goals requires strong collaboration and partnership between our teams and our internal stakeholders. To best support this, the person who accepts this role is expected to be on site, in office four days per week. To provide our employees with flexibility, we offer a unique benefit where employees at Fanatics' corporate entity can work remotely for up to four weeks per year, which can be taken in daily or weekly increments.
What You'll Do:
- Ensuring and developing processes for the preparation and recording of required journal entries for certain entities/processes including daily transactions focused on intercompany activity.
- Develop and maintain balance sheet support schedules and reconciliations monthly.
- Assist with coordination of operational audit support.
- Partner and collaborate with peers and business partners to drive change management, increase operational efficiencies, lead process improvement and alignment within the accounting and finance organization, as well as cross functionally.
- Ensuring and developing a process for collection, tracking, analyzing, reporting and reconciliation of activity on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Improve financial status by analyzing results and variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions.
- Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies related to processes and procedures.
- Prepare intercompany settlements on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Acquire a deep understanding of the business processes related to assigned area/function (including general ledger accounts and transaction flow).
- Perform duties in compliance with GAAP, company and department policies and procedures, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements if needed.
- Assist management on all accounting related issues.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests, other analyses and special projects requested by management.
- Assist with developing policies, including working with outside service providers as needed.
- Assist with the coordination of the company's growth and expansion as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred
- 5+ years' practical accounting experience, with emphasis in intercompany activities a plus
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and stringent deadlines within a fast-paced environment is a must
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively work with multiple departments and levels within the organization
- Strong attention to detail
- A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is a plus for this role
