WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Senior Accountant will support Japan Finance Controlling, reporting to the Japan Corporate Accounting Manager and partnering with global and Japan‑based teams. The role enables accurate, compliant financial reporting through close cross‑functional collaboration.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Nike seeks a Senior Accountant with strong technical accounting capability and proven operational discipline. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment, demonstrates ownership, and works effectively with diverse global and local partners. They bring curiosity, precision, and a commitment to continuous improvement while modeling leadership through communication and collaboration.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, JGAAP, and Japan tax regulations
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus
  • Strong Excel competency with analytical strength
  • US CPA (or equivalent certification) is a plus
  • Fluent in Japanese and English; strong communication skills

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will drive core general ledger and accounting activities for Nike Japan. You will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting while strengthening processes and partnering across functions.

  • Lead monthly close activities for assigned areas.
  • Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations and income statements.
  • Oversee accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage intercompany accounting and coordination with global teams.
  • Support tax filings and regulatory submissions.
  • Partner with Global Finance Operations for accurate transaction processing.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners on accounting topics.
