Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 13 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).

Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.

Position

Milano Cortina 2026 (MiCo) is seeking an experienced and qualified Olympic security planning manager to join our security team and assist in planning the security operations for the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in 2026; specifically planning security operations for MiCo and Event Delivery Entity (EDE) Competition Venues. This role will be responsible for, in partnership with State security delivery partners, developing, implementing and monitoring the security plan for the event, ensuring the safety and security of athletes, spectators, staff, and venue assets for competition venues.

The SPCVM will work closely with various stakeholders, such as the Olympic organizing committee, the host city authorities, the national and international security agencies, the venue operators and the service providers. You will also manage a team of security coordinators and liaise with the security personnel on the ground. The SPCVM will have a strong background in security management, preferably in large-scale events or sports and . The SPCVM will also have excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

The SPCVM will be able to work under pressure and handle complex and dynamic situations.

He/She will:

  • Develop, implement and monitor the security plan for the Olympic Games, in accordance with the relevant standards and regulations;
  • Coordinate and supervise the security operations for the event, including risk assessment, threat analysis, contingency planning and crisis management;
  • Manage a team of security coordinators and provide guidance and support to them;
  • Liaise with various stakeholders, such as the Olympic organizing committee, the host city authorities, the national and international security agencies, the venue operators and the service providers;
  • Ensure compliance with the security policies and procedures of the event;
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of the security performance and effectiveness;
  • Provide timely and accurate reports and feedback on the security situation and issues;
  • Identify and resolve any security gaps or challenges;
  • Manage the budget and resources for the security operations;
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity;
  • The SPCVM should also have a good knowledge of the Olympic Games and its values, and in particular, Olympic security planning concepts and planning principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in security management, criminal justice or related field (desirable);
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in security management, preferably in the Olympic environment(desirable) or as a minimum in large-scale or sport events (essential);
  • Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills (essential);
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks (essential);
  • Familiarity with the host city culture and environment (desirable);
  • Average to good knowledge of English (essential) and at least one other official language of the Olympic Games (desirable).
