Full Description
Formula 1 is the fastest growing sport in the world, attracting millions of new fans every year! As we continue our growth globally, we are looking for a Sales Operations Lead to support the Commercial Operations team in our London Office.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Proposition Development
- Manage proposition development, alongside a sales counterpart, for high value deals with prospective and existing partners.
- Develop bespoke, compelling narratives that showcase Formula 1’s value and unique selling point to each prospective partner.
- Devise, and work with internal departments to deliver, new commercial assets that can be packaged and sold to existing or new partners.
- Manage and track asset and category exclusivities across all partners, highlighting areas of opportunity to senior leadership.
Sales Operations
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure Formula 1’s commercial inventory is appropriately and proportionately offered to partners.
- Develop term sheets (Heads of Terms), ensuring they address both key partner objectives and also protect F1’s commercial interests by delivering sufficient margin to the business.
- Own the process of transitioning commercial deals from negotiation to long-form agreements, working closely with Formula 1’s Legal team.
Internal Processes and Reporting
- Conduct financial modelling, revenue forecasting, and performance analysis to support commercial planning and optimize monetization strategies.
- Develop and present business cases, strategic recommendations, and performance reports to senior management and other key stakeholders.
- Monitor the effectiveness of commercial initiatives, identifying opportunities for improvement and adapting strategies to changing market conditions and consumer behaviour.
- Manage Salesforce and other dashboard reporting processes for regular senior stakeholder updates.
- Drive cross-functional CRM project(s) to consolidate and automate inventory and data management across the organization.
- Identify and integrate technologies with the goal of optimizing internal processes.
- Ensure that all client facing materials, including both proposals and term sheets, are of the highest standard and align with the objectives of all areas of the Commercial department.
Specification Essentials:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial strategy / business development, preferably within the sports, entertainment, media or tech industry
- A degree in Business / Economics or related field
- Experience in developing and executive successful commercial strategies
- Experience managing high-value partnerships
- Experience with financial modelling
- Experience working reporting and visualisation tools such as Salesforce, AWS QuickSight, Tableau and Excel
