Salary Arbitration Consultant
Summary:
- Provide services as a consultant on Salary Arbitration during the Fall/Winter (October 2025 to March 2026) for MLBPA’s Baseball Operations & Analytics Department.
Services to provide include but are not limited to:
- Assisting MLBPA’s attorneys and staff in all aspects of the Salary Arbitration process:
- Determine Players who meet the requirements to be Salary Arbitration Eligible.
- Conduct statistical analysis and research to determine Player contract values.
- Develop arbitration case strategies.
- Review hearing materials and draft slides and exhibits for hearings.
- Communicate with Players and Agents about the process.

Consultant Qualifications:
Prior work or academic experience in Baseball’s Salary Arbitration process is a requirement.
Current Law Student with excellent academic credentials, recent Law School Graduate, or College Graduate with significant prior working experience in the Baseball industry.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
High-level understanding, sound knowledge, and familiarity with the rules of the game of Baseball and baseball transactions, baseball statistics, players both past and present, and Baseball’s salary arbitration process.
Consultant must be organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently and multi-task, communicate effectively orally and in writing, provide excellent legal analysis on salary arbitration matters, and handle sensitive data in a trustworthy manner.

Location and Duration of Services:
- October-Mid-January & Late February-March: New York City Office/Remote.
- Late-January to Mid-February: Must be able to attend the salary arbitration hearings in person in St. Petersburg, Florida. (Travel expenses covered by MLBPA.)
Compensation: Annual rate of $50,000-$75,000 (pro-rated for the approximate period of employment), depending on the qualifications and available time commitment of the candidate.
