Role snapshot: Assess, advise, and improve workplace safety across the ELC in partnership with EHS, operations, managers, and CPBW members.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

Within the EHS team, the Safety Advisor is part of the Internal Service for Prevention and Protection at Work and reports directly to the EHS Manager. The Safety Advisor works with fellow safety advisors to help create a safe and healthy ELC for teammates and external partners. This role collaborates closely with departments across the business, especially the Distribution Directors of the Distribution Centers (DCs) in Ham or Laakdal. The Safety Advisor also partners with DC teams and CPBW members to support continuous improvement in safety and health.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Within the Nike ELC, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) is looking for a Safety Advisor. This role is part of the Internal Service for Prevention and Protection at Work and supports the employer in creating safe, healthy working conditions for teammates and external partners, in line with Belgian Welfare Legislation.

Your Baseline to Play at Pro Level:

  • Safety Expertise. Level 1 certification preferred, or at least three years of hands-on experience at Level 2.
  • Belgian Welfare Legislation Knowledge. Knowledge of, or experience with, Belgian welfare and workplace safety legislation.
  • Collaboration Skills. Ability to work effectively with operational teams, managers, CPBW members, and stakeholders across the business.
  • Independent Working Style. Able to work independently, manage priorities, and connect the right partners when follow-up is needed.
  • Language Proficiency. Fluent in Dutch and English, with clear written and verbal communication skills.

As a plus:

Any one of the following can strengthen the profile:

  • Machine Safety: Strong knowledge of machine safety principles and how to apply them in an operational environment.
  • Technical Background. A technical secondary school degree, plus ideally experience in a fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Ergonomic Knowledge. Ability to assess ergonomic risks and translate findings into clear, practical improvements.

Other Skills That Step Up Your Performance:

  • Facilitation and Reporting Skills. Can facilitate discussions with diverse stakeholders and translate complex information into clear, structured reports.
  • Work Schedule Flexibility. Available to occasionally support outside standard office hours when operational needs require it.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will help protect the well-being of teammates and external partners by advising the employer and managers on safety and health. You will assess workstations and distribution activities, map risks, investigate hazards where needed, and translate findings into practical advice.

You will support new installations and processes by providing managers with commissioning reports that are clear, timely, and actionable.

You will strengthen prevention by supporting incident and accident investigations, identifying root causes, and proposing measures that help prevent recurrence.
