Fanatics Collectibles is a leading licensor, producer, designer, and seller of physical and digital trading cards, sports memorabilia, and other digital assets for entertainment and sports properties globally, as well as a manufacturer of physical and digital trading cards. It has secured exclusive licensing arrangements with major national professional sports leagues, including the MLB, NFL and the NBA, and related players associations, to produce physical and digital trading cards and other collectibles.

Fanatics Collectibles also has partnerships with a number of individual international sports teams and leagues, as well as owners of other entertainment properties granting similar exclusive rights. Fanatics Collectibles launched Fanatics Live in July 2023, which focuses on transforming the digital shopping experience through personality-driven content and entertainment.

The combined vision and distinct strengths of both Fanatics and Topps continues to improve the collector experience, while maintaining vital parts of the hobby. Fanatics' data-driven, direct-to-consumer expertise, which includes a database of more than 100 million sports fans globally, further enhances and expands upon Topps' existing digital capabilities. Topps' world-class quality, product development, and manufacturing capabilities, along with their commitment to collectors and hobby shops, further ensures products are more readily accessible, positively impacting current and future collectors and partners.

The Role:

Reporting into Fanatics' President of Trading Cards, the Regional President, EMEA & LatAm will develop and lead the Fanatics Collectibles brand across all markets in EMEA and Latin America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full P&L responsibility for the EMEA and LatAm business, providing day to day leadership for a high-performing and team-oriented culture.
  • Create, lead, and oversee the overall strategy and implementation for the region, whilst overseeing in-market execution of localised strategies across both B2B and B2C channels.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the regional markets, monitor key financial metrics, and establish strategies to achieve financial goals.
  • Develop the culture of trading card collecting across markets, with a view to both expanding the base of collectors and developing new revenue streams.
  • Drive the acquisition of new commercial partners, working closely with the Business Development team.
  • Build and lead team to design and produce unique and exclusive collectibles based on licensing rights from partners.
  • Ensure that all opportunities and obligations from partner and brand contracts are fully delivered and maximized.
  • Gain strong understanding of consumer and partner needs – and develop business enhancements (e.g., tech, merchandising, operations) to deliver behind them.
  • Continually evolve international strategy and execute localised go to market strategies for each new priority geography.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to develop and execute brand strategies that resonate within the target markets, and ensure consistent brand positioning across all channels.
  • Collaborate with the technology team to develop products with goals of adding capabilities that attract new customers, improve the customer experience, and drive productivity (e.g. live platforms, secondary trading platforms).
  • Lead regular business unit reviews of KPIs and Partner P&L, ensuring joint accountability.
  • Attract and retain best in class talent across all functions in order to achieve business objectives.

Ideal Candidate/Qualifications:

  • A highly skilled CEO or senior commercial Leader who has held full P&L responsibility, preferably in a consumer-facing business.
  • Gravitas, commercial nous, and the political agility to influence current and future clients/partners and wider stakeholders, with demonstrable skills in dealmaking and building sustainable relationships with the most prestigious clients across sports, media, and entertainment.
  • Commercial track record of growing businesses, ideally with a strong online presence, and experience in working across both major and emerging markets in EMEA and, ideally, Latin America.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships, to gain buy-in and credibility at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Wide business knowledge and understanding of multiple retail disciplines including product innovation, merchandising, buying, licensing, marketing, and operations – ideally with strong domain expertise in ecommerce and the ability to leverage revenue across multi-channels to market.
  • Entrepreneurial characteristics of being a true business builder - including self-belief, passion, risk taking, tenacity and persistence when seeking new business growth and opportunities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and geographies to bring best practices that further drive the local businesses.
  • Experience setting and working within committed budgets as part of a global enterprise.
  • High levels of EQ, able to build and develop relationships across different cultures.
  • Prior experience working successfully in matrixed organisations, particularly reporting into a US head office and managing teams across continents.
  • Driven, able to work at high pace with boundless energy.
  • Experience in the sports and entertainment industry would be highly beneficial.
  • Results-focused, knowledgeable, and respected individual with a track record of delivering results in challenging situations.
  • A natural negotiator and empathetic listener who can debate, influence, and convince at all levels.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. An additional European language would be beneficial.
