The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles’ third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. Project Manager, Accommodations (ACM):

The Project Manager, Accommodations (ACM) is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and delivery of all accommodation programs supporting the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This role drives cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that accommodation projects—spanning hotels, universities, and workforce housing programs—are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest operational standards.

Reporting to the Head of Accommodations, the Project Manager serves as a central connector between internal Functional Areas (FAs), external partners, and delivery teams, ensuring alignment across all departmental initiatives. The position requires exceptional project management discipline, communication skills, and a strong ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments to deliver a seamless Games-time experience for athletes, workforce, media, and Games Family constituents.

Key Responsibilities:

Program & Project Management

  • Leadthe development, monitoring, and delivery of the Accommodations department’s project roadmap in alignment with the LA28 Master Delivery Schedule and cross-functional planning cycles.
  • Managetimelines and deliverables across all Accommodations pillars: Hotel Program, Workforce Housing, Media Village, Games Family Hotels (OFH/PFH), and Institutional Partnerships.
  • Identify and manage interdependencies, risks, and critical paths across accommodation programs, ensuring mitigation strategies are implemented and communicated.
  • Produceproject governance documentation including dashboards, readiness reports, and executive summaries for internal and IOC/IPC review.
  • Supportdecision-making through data-driven insights, progress tracking, and performance reporting.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Actas the primary liaison between Accommodations and Functional Areas including Transport, Security, Accreditation, Villages, Technology, Workforce, and Games Family Services.
  • Facilitatecollaboration across internal pillars (Hotel Operations, Contracting, Workforce Housing, Media Accommodation, AOC Operations) and external partners.
  • Ensure alignment across functional timelines, arrivals/departures planning, overlay installation, and Games-time operational readiness.
  • Coordinateintegration with universities, hotels, city agencies, and service providers to deliver unified operational outcomes.

Operational Readiness & Games-Time Delivery

  • Support readiness planning for the Accommodation Operations Centre (AOC) and all site-based housing operations.
  • Trackmonitorand reportsite readiness deliverables including staffing, IT systems, signage, and service provider activation.
  • Participatein testing and simulations, capturing lessons learned and ensuring continuous improvement leading into Games-time.
  • Contributeto the definition of escalation, communication, and issue resolution processes for operational execution.

Financial & Contract Management

  • Supportthe management of vendor and partner contracts, ensuring scope compliance, deliverable tracking, and SLA performance.
  • Collaboratewith Finance and Procurement on budget forecasting, cost tracking, and expenditure reporting.
  • Ensuretransparency and accuracy in financial and contractual documentation throughout project delivery.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintaindetailed and current project documentation, including decision logs, schedules, and version-controlled records.
  • Prepare and deliver departmental reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leadership and IOC/IPC coordination.
  • Supportpost-Games reporting, including debriefs, data analysis, and legacy documentation to inform future events.

Background & Requirements:

Experience / Background

  • 5+years of experience in project or program management within large-scale events, hospitality, or sports operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects with concurrent deliverables and evolving priorities.
  • Previous Olympic/Paralympic, major event, hotel, or public-sector project experience highly desirable.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of accommodation operations including contracting, allocation, and service delivery models.
  • Strong command of project management tools such as Smartsheet, MS Project, or Asana.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and Functional Areas.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Familiarity with Olympic/Paralympic operational structures and timelines a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Hospitality, Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MPA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification desirable.
  • Formal training or coursework in large-scale event operations, hospitality management, or Olympic/Paralympic delivery frameworks considered an asset.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • This is a Los Angeles–based, full-time, in-office position requiring regular on-site presence to support coordination with internal teams and external partners.
  • Availability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required during peak operational and Games-time periods.

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000 - $115,000 The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
