Working with the world’s most iconic properties and brands, we elevate live events to make them unforgettable.
LIVE·TEAM will be involved in a number of Projects related to the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2027. We are looking for a Project Financial Controller to support the delivery of these projects. In this role you will partner with the Project team to analyse project profitability, maintain and track client budgets, and provide commercial and operational finance support. You will need to work closely with local professional advisors to ensure legal and tax compliance.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, has a positive approach, and is comfortable dealing with colleagues across a range of skillsets and seniority levels.
This role reports to the Vice President Finance with key stakeholders being the Project Director, Project team members, HR team and international finance teams including shared service centre.
This role will be key to successful project delivery by ensuring the project team is supported with all aspects of financial management and reporting.
KEY INFORMATION:
- Fixed Term – 18 Month Contract
- Based in Rio de Janeiro – initially remote and then within Project office
- Bi-lingual English/Portuguese required
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Overseeing key aspects of financial control for the projects:
- Maintaining client budget reporting
- Monitoring and reporting on budget status for internal management reporting purposes.
- Tracking profit margins for individual elements of the project
- Liaising with shared service center team in order to establish and maintain effective, responsive, and fluent communication
- Oversight of client invoicing and cash collection on the projects
- Providing commercial support to Project Managers
- Supporting supplier on-boarding process with the aid of Shared Service center
- Preparation and execution of local payroll
- Key liaison with local banking providers
- Maintenance of tight cash control and close management of working capital
- Maintenance of cash flow forecasting for the project. Preparing weekly cashflow forecast for group submission
- Ensuring business compliance with group controls, processes and policies
- Providing financial information to key management as and when required, including variance analysis and sensitivity analysis
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable taxes and duties including import duties and withholding taxes
- Supporting shared service centre with cost coding, allocation and approvals
- Supporting HR team and professional advisors with preparation of Monthly payroll
THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:
- Qualified accountant, ideally ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Fluent in English and Portuguese
- Commercial mindset and approach. Must be able to interpret commercial arrangements in contracts
- Knowledge and experience of Brazilian laws and customs with the ability to navigate local administrative obstacles
- Excellent Excel Skills
- Experience of working in multi-currency environment
- Experience of working as a project accountant or within a project team desirable
- Experience of using Workday desirable
- Strong Analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident and self assured in order to be able to work with senior project leaders
- Pro-active approach and positive attitude
- Open to feedback and always looking to learn and grow
