Purpose of Role

This role is to work closely with suppliers to deliver transparent and best material prices to support brand margin target.  Provide material costing expertise knowledge to internal stake holders for decision making.  The candidate will report to Sr. Manager Material Costing currently based in Hong Kong Office

Your Impact

Footwear Material Costing

  • Support Footwear Materials Costing and Materials Operations team to collect, validate and analyze material and component cost data on a seasonal basis
  • Applies advanced knowledge through data analysis to project and forecast of product costing & saving improvement process
  • Support and manage the seasonal costing activities timeline to cope with the seasonal development calendar to enhance costing process and provide guidance to team.
  • Support target cost setting for resource, multi-country source 
  • Support the seasonal costing activities including supplier ranking and cost competitiveness input to leadership with insights on cost driver developments and supplier competitiveness using systematic costing analytics, to support for costing strategy to set for short term and long-term goal.
  • Create & disseminate research of different & various costing structures, components, internal & external factors & drivers at model level, mix, sourcing, pricings & other decisions impact overall profitability.
  • Support and execute cross-functional initiatives and costing projects.

Reporting & Tools

  • Seasonal Material price management: Maintain seasonal Material price list at centric system
  • Drive development, implementation and maintenance of advanced reporting and analytics tools, to increase transparency in material costing and to sustain the costing performance and support sourcing strategy.
  • Data cube: create and maintain the data cube and seasonal master data for team benchmarking and analysis.
  • Costing Scorecard: Development and implementation of costing scorecard thru identifying seasonal cost competitiveness of vendor. 
  • Cost Matrix: Gather market intelligence and understand macroeconomic changes such as macro-economic trend/ movement (wages, exchange rate etc.) and conduct cost analysis to foresee the implication to the seasonal cost matrix setting.
  • Clearly and concisely document the costing process from origination through completion to create SOP to have the guidelines and follow calendars.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of progressive work experience in analytical position, preferably in footwear or apparel industry
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills
  • Experience with Tableau and Power BI a plus
  • Data driven mind set, good in numbering with data logic to project for the product cost forecast, find for cost optimization to achieve Group’s financial targets through seasonal cost database management, report creation and maintenance.
  • Is able to work with teammates and partners, appreciate difference in opinion and is able to include them in his daily operations to find the best solutions to achieve the goal. Data driven, can manipulate information to get the best solution on the table.
  • Has a clear and defined approach to allow others to participate in the conversation. Can easily communicate findings and processes to larger group
  • Cross collaboration with peers but also to act as team player with the analytical part of the team where the information and challenges are generated. The ability is to include the continued improvement mentality to calibrate results internally and externally.
