Full Description
Position Description – Process Governance Manager
This role provides transparency, traceability, and consistency to how products are made and leads the company in pursuing compliance adherence and paves the way for future business goals via development and deployment of process governance best practices. Work closely with manufacturing partners, material suppliers and logistics providers.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Onboarding – 25%
Ensure supplier adherence to key onboarding timelines, and submit signature of key documents
Facilitate Business Justification Form submission for review by Source Base Review Board
Track Supplier onboarding process status at Hub level
Conduct holistic due diligence on potential suppliers to provide multi-faceted perspective to Business (general viability, cost, quality, transit, etc.)
Eliminate negative pathways and noncompliant approaches and expansion of preferred pathways. Drive and maximize positive origin raw material selection.
Cascade updated policies/requirements to suppliers as needed, follow up and verify and track signatures (if required)
Share best practices with suppliers across all disciplines, deliver supplier and team capability building.
Traceability & Raw Material Compliance – 50%
Direct and collaborate with supply chain partners on compliance directives and reporting for raw materials – apparel, headwear
Support customer and trade compliance with required document procurement, such as fiber origin documents and/or transaction verifications
Support Sustainability, Materials, and Sourcing teams by procuring fiber origin and other key documents illustrating the origin and/or flow of inputs to products. Lead mills with compliance reporting and audits of raw materials, including chemicals, inks and dyestuffs, if any request.
Support customer compliance and other teams upon receipt of ad hoc licensor/retailer requests for source/product input related verification documentation.
Continually develop to stay up to date on the latest developments by discipline (government initiatives, incentives and changes in local legislation etc.), including through dialogue with Global Trade Compliance, Legal, Sustainability, and Product Integrity.
Support and collaborate on upstream mapping and capability overviews to manufacturing process optimization and provide strategy recommendations based on learnings from supplier engagement
Provide expertise to team and suppliers on raw material compliance initiatives
Support Traceability work through sourcing and materials data collection and management, supplier training, capability-building, on-site validation, desk-top due diligence, and corrective action management. Develop internal reporting on traceability implementation and escalate risky suppliers to cross-functional leaders for risk mitigation.
Other PCC Sourcing / Data Support – 25%
Support development of and adherence to SOPs
Drive discipline for timely and accurate data management
Requirements
Suitable degree or diplomas (Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, Risk Management & Governance, Process Engineering, etc.) and additional industry experience (especially sporting goods or apparel manufacturing) preferred. Graduates in other engineering disciplines will also be considered.
3-5+ years of experience in the field of material factory compliant management or other manufacturing compliant related work.
A generalist with background/exposure in various facets of apparel supply chains: Sourcing, Product Development, Materials, Trade Compliance, Sustainability, Regulation & Legislation adherence, etc.
Knowledge of material compliance, sourcing and manufacturing protocols, trends and jargon.
Excellent English, oral and written communication skills as well as competence in using computer software programs.
Excellent organizational skill and ability to work with little or no direct supervision.
Good interpersonal skill, problem solving and communication skills.
Willing to travel and work on the manufacturing production floor.
