WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Principal Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will be a key driver in the innovation and advancement of Nike’s manufacturing processes within the LATAM region. This role will lead a team of Advanced Manufacturing Engineers in developing and implementing cutting-edge automation and digitization capabilities, ensuring that Nike maintains a competitive edge in manufacturing technology.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

What You Bring:

  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in Advanced Manufacturing, Automation, and Digitization.
  • Proven leadership in managing and developing high-performing engineering teams with a focus on automation technologies.
  • Expertise in automation systems, robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and IoT as they relate to manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in GSD and background in factory capacity planning & management.
  • A strong technical foundation with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications in engineering or technology management are preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing process design and optimization, with a demonstrated ability to innovate and improve complex systems.
  • A track record of successfully implementing large-scale automation and digitization projects within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influence skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-layered global organization.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and data analysis tools.

  • Ability to travel 50% of your time within factories locations in North and Central America.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

  • Lead the key Manufacturing Modernization and Digitization initiatives at Nike, together with our Americas Apparel factory partners.
  • Develop strategic plans for the integration of advanced technologies that enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and speed to market.
  • Oversee the research and evaluation of new automation and digitization technologies to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation that supports Nike’s enterprise strategy and business goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Partner Management, Product Creation and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, to align advanced capabilities with Nike’s product and process requirements.
  • Drive the implementation of Advance and Intelligent Industry initiatives, including smart factory concepts, the Internet of Things (IoT), and AI to create a connected and intelligent manufacturing ecosystem.
  • Facilitate the development of technical standards and best practices for automation and digitization projects.
  • Mentor and develop the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Track and refresh key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of automation and digitization initiatives and their impact on manufacturing outcomes.
  • Engage with external technology partners and internal stakeholders to drive innovation and stay abreast of emerging trends in advanced manufacturing.
