THE POSITION

We are seeking an exceptional Portfolio Manager (TPM) to drive the execution of our most strategically important programs across data and machine learning infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a seasoned portfolio leader with deep experience managing large-scale technical initiatives across data platforms, engineering, and analytics. You will be responsible for orchestrating program delivery, optimizing resource allocation, and driving portfolio governance, transparency, and outcomes.  You will also be passionate about defining best practices around execution, communication and prioritization and developing a high performing team of Technical Program Managers.

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Manage multiple concurrent portfolios and/or strategic programs spanning data platforms, ML infrastructure, and foundational services that require cross-functional stakeholders’ engagements with a focus on end-to-end delivery
  • Maintain line of sight to the work across the portfolio and effectively guide the assigned Technical Program Managers.  
  • Translate high-level business strategy into actionable roadmaps, success metrics, and operating models that enable predictable delivery at scale.
  • Break down programs that are large and complex into manageable workstreams and deliverables and proactively identify and mitigate risks and dependencies that may impact delivery.
  • Lead horizontally across multiple department (e.g., product, engineering, analytics, and infrastructure) to ensure alignment on vision, resourcing, dependencies, and outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to VP and SVP of Data, facilitating cross-functional alignment, surfacing tradeoffs, and providing clear, risk-aware recommendations
  • Drive visibility into program health, investment ROI, and strategic progress through high-quality communication, reporting, and executive briefings
  • Represent the program function in strategic planning discussions, providing perspective on prioritization, technical readiness, and operational capacity
  • Establish best-in-class TPM practices and influence organizational maturity around execution discipline, technical planning, and cross-functional communication
  • Mentor TPMs, shaping a culture of accountability, clarity, and excellence in technical program management


THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • 10+ years of experience leading large-scale technical programs within technology or data-driven organizations
  • 5+ years of experience managing Technical Program Managers or similar roles
  • Deep experience leading programs in data infrastructure, ML platform development, or cloud-native architecture at enterprise or platform-scale organizations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated success influencing executive stakeholders and technical leadership alike.
  • Strong technical acumen across modern data stacks (e.g., Spark, Airflow, Databricks, Kafka), and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with high ambiguity and drive clarity, alignment, and measurable outcomes across loosely coupled teams.
  • History of influencing and affecting change at all levels of an organization without authority.

The applicable salary range for this position is $171,000 - $214,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
