The Opportunity
The UK Sports Institute and Archery GB have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to cover a period of maternity leave until May 2027
Hours of Work
This role is currently a 0.9 maternity cover based at Lilleshall National Sports Centre a minimum of 4 days a week and includes Para international travel for up to 10-12 days in 2026 and 10-20 days in 2027. We would consider applications for reduced FTE for the right candidate, providing International Travel is covered.
International Travel
In 2026 there will be around = 8-10 international travel days. In 2027 there will be around 10-20 international travel days.
A snapshot of the role
This role is part of the newly formed UKSI Paralympic Specialist Service. It offers an exciting opportunity to join a team of specialist multi-disciplinary practitioners working collaboratively to support Paralympic and Olympic Archery World Class Programmes (WCP).
The role requires a suitably qualified and experienced physiotherapist to take on a lead role in the development and delivery of athlete health services in the Archery GB World Class Programme (WCP) for a fixed period (maternity cover). This role will provide specialised physiotherapy support services to WCP athletes including Paralympic, World and European champions, contributing to positive performance impact in training and competition. Working collaboratively across the interdisciplinary support team, the post holder will undertake projects and facilitate solutions to complex challenges to optimise athlete health and maximise availability for performance.
The successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of world-leading physiotherapy and health service provision across WCP Athletes competing internationally and will lead the delivery of athlete management and rehabilitation strategies across the wider interdisciplinary support team. In addition, the post holder will deliver an athlete health strategy aligned to the needs of the sport, support athlete classification (where required), be responsible for clinical delivery at camps and competitions and provide specialist consultancy to support the management of complex presentations across the WCP.
