WORK OPTION: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week.

Position Summary:
This position will service key strategic NBA marketing partner relationships. This person will focus on the activation and optimization of various global marketing partner accounts.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the fulfillment of partners' full sponsorship portfolios across NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, NBA 2K League, Basketball Africa League (BAL) and/or USA Basketball (USAB) properties
  • Build effective working relationships and strong consensus with key NBA constituencies including: sub-departments within Global Partnerships, Events, Media, Content, Public Relations, Legal, Licensing, Social Impact, Team Marketing & Business Operations, Player Marketing, and Live Programming & Entertainment
  • Manage day-to-day partner activation processes, including: activation planning and approvals, promotional development, media planning, financials, advertising creation and approval, event coordination and results tracking which will require collaboration across multiple departments
  • Develop and leverage strong relationships and build credibility with external partners and their lead agencies
  • Serve as day-to-day contact on partnership matters ranging from contractual deliverables to activation strategy
  • Manage budgets and expenses for marketing partners including assisting in the annual budget planning process; this includes fluency in our financial reporting and pipeline management system
  • Provide partnership expertise in the comprehension of contractual elements and understanding of partners' marketing/business goals, objectives, target audience and competitors
  • Execute against partnership goals and success metrics, implement a measurement system and plan for monitoring effectiveness and providing regular reporting
  • Assist in global coordination of partner benefits at international events
  • Support in identification of areas of opportunity and develop upsell proposals for partners throughout the season
  • Take on role of supporting larger department initiatives, i.e. managing yearly partner touch points, or becoming a GP liaison to another department in the organization

Required Education/Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years professional experience in relevant field (marketing, advertising, account management, or brand management)
  • Prior experience supporting internal and external relationships, developing presentations and thinking creatively, a strong plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing preferred or relevant experience

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:

  • Presentation skills, including the ability to lead discussions and interact with senior executives (internally and externally)
  • Strong business writing/written communication skills
  • Relationship management skills both internally and externally, adapting to various personalities and working styles!
  • Strategic thinker - able to execute partner strategy
  • Strong financial and analytical skills; ability to create internal and external reports
  • Must be highly motivated, proactive, self-starter with high energy and team spirit
  • Solid understanding of sponsorship activation including events, media, marketing rights, content, etc.
  • Ability to forecast issues in projects, troubleshoot, and problem solve with internal constituents and external partners
  • Enjoys fast paced and challenging work environment!
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Salary Range: $87,000 - $100,000
