Full Description
The role of Communication is to develop and lead strategic communications through storytelling, earned media, and influencer relations to reach and engage new consumers, more often, and on more occasions.
The Communication Manager is responsible for positioning and delivering an effective communication message across all types of third-party and owned media channels (social, web, TV, radio, and print) to bring our brand image to life, and make Red Bull relevant for our target audiences.
By working with cross-functional expertise, the Communication Manager develops and activates Paid, Earned, Managed & Owned (PEMO) plans within Sports/Culture/Brand projects. She/he takes full responsibility for earned media activation by relationship building through traditional third-party and social influencer amplification.
He/she fulfills the role of a “correspondent” for Red Bull Media House. He/she not only distributes Red Bull’s own productions but also syndicates international content to national media outlets and supports Red Bull Media House with information on local content licensing opportunities.

EARNED MEDIA
- Responsible for having others talk about the world of Red Bull positively and without payment: earned media activation, influencer amplification, and high-frequency editorial relationships.
- Develop strategic editorial media partnerships to reach new audiences, increase top-of-mind awareness and generate word of mouth.
- Identify and constantly reflect on the most important media that matters in the market to help drive impactful word-of-mouth about the Red Bull brand.
INTEGRATED COMMUNICATION & STORYTELLING STRATEGY
- Identify great story opportunities coming from Sports/Culture/Brand facilitating the translation of marketing ideas into engaging media products.
- Develop an integrated communication approach and activation plans across EMO (earned, managed, and owned channels) for all Red Bull initiatives in the market together with the Media Network Manager and team.
- Evaluate emerging trends in Brand, Culture, and Sports to identify potential opportunities for Red Bull to target consumer groups more effectively, especially entry point consumers (EPC).
CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS
- Responsible for corporate communications including product (can) communication, crisis, and consumer affairs, according to the international guidelines.
- Measure and evaluate our earned impact beyond awareness, keeping the marketing team data informed to make the right decision in the future.
STAKEHOLDER, AGENCY & NETWORK MANAGEMENT
- Manage relationships with local projects leads and HQ counterparts to achieve alignment and business success.
- Day-to-day management and procurement of supporting PR agencies and PR freelance networks within budget parameters.
EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertise
that matter most for this role:
- Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in Communications, PR, or Media led companies.
- Understanding the national media landscape (all channels: broadcast, print, web, and new media), ideally already maintaining a strong network.
- A (proven) track record in leading projects and securing brand reach & engagement via earned media amplification.
- Editorial sense: content and story developer (beyond the Red Bull world of content).
- Understanding of distribution (print, broadcast, web, and new media).
- Ability to think strategically on how to position Marketing and Media initiatives to guarantee message pull through to our target audience via traditional earned media including social influencers
- Good management skills (team of specialists, leading external media companies, freelancers, etc.)
- Very equipped to build media and influencer relations in all fields
- Works with passion and has a high affinity with the worlds of Sports and Culture
- Creative thinker and innovator; in touch with digital, cultural, and consumer trends
- Able to travel as needed; work flexible hours/days of week and weekends
- A motivated self-starter who is able to think big on their own and created executable campaigns that drive positive word-of-mouth with our consumers
