Full Description

  • Contract type: Fixed term until July 2028. Full time
  • Reports to: Senior Marketing and Distribution Manager

Overview
The role of Marketing & Subscription Executive is a key member the Digital Marketing & Distribution team specifically around the promotion of Premier League +, the Premier League’s new direct to consumer product.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing and Distribution Manager, the role focuses on delivering consistent, professional execution across digital, content, and lifecycle channels, ensuring that Premier League + subscribers receive a premium and coherent brand experience at every touchpoint.

The role combines campaign delivery, content coordination, and structured execution across owned channels, CRM, and distribution.

Campaign Execution and Channel Management

  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns across digital, content, and owned channels, from brief through to reporting.
  • Support paid media placements by supplying creative assets, campaign specs, and briefing materials to the team currently managing buys.
  • Manage the always-on content calendar across all channels, including EDM, push, in-app, and social, coordinating creative production, copywriting, and asset trafficking with design and agency partners.
  • Run A/B tests across acquisition, content, and retention touchpoints, and action learnings into future campaigns.

Subscriber Marketing and Lifecycle Coordination

  • Own the subscriber funnel end to end: acquisition creative and targeting, onboarding, conversion of trials, and win-back of lapsed subscribers.
  • Run lifecycle and CRM campaigns, including email, push, and in-app messaging, using Adobe Journey Optimizer as the primary platform.
  • Build and QA audience segments and journey logic, working closely with data and product partners.
  • Track campaign and subscriber performance against target, flag underperformance early, and action optimisations.

Content and Distribution Coordination

  • Coordinate content and distribution execution: app store listings, partner platform requirements, and merchandising windows tied to fixture schedules.
  • Support partnership and promotional marketing activations tied to fixtures, club moments, and sponsors.
  • Help ensure marketing output is fit for purpose across every channel, from owned content to CRM to platform merchandising.

Support for the Marketing and Distribution Team

  • Translate KPI frameworks and campaign strategy into executable plans, with growing exposure to strategy and planning over time.
  • Maintain campaign documentation and post-campaign reporting so work is repeatable and auditable.
  • Provide operational support to the team, including briefing documents, campaign trackers, and reporting decks.
  • Proven experience in digital marketing execution across campaigns, content and paid media.
  • Practical experience across digital and content marketing; direct paid media buying experience useful but not essential, as this scope expands over time
  • Comfort producing or coordinating content: copy, creative briefs, social posts, EDM, and push, working with designers and agencies
  • Working familiarity with a CRM or journey platform, ideally Adobe Journey Optimizer
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and stakeholders against fixed deadlines
  • Comfort with data: pulling reports, reading dashboards, spotting anomalies without needing to be told what to look for
  • Proactive, solution-driven mindset and comfort working at pace in a small team
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a cross-functional environment
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to premium execution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Direct experience on a brand, content, or subscription marketing team
  • Basic HTML/CSS for email template edits

The Premier League is home to some of the most competitive and compelling football in the world. The League and its Clubs use the power and popularity of the competition to inspire fans, communities and partners in the UK and across the world. The Premier League brings people together from all backgrounds. It is a competition for everyone, everywhere and is available to watch in over 1.2 billion homes in 189 countries.

We have a wide variety of responsibilities. These include organising the competition and its Handbook as well as managing the centralised broadcast and commercial rights. The work we do in conjunction with the Clubs also goes far beyond the 90 minutes. We support and provide a framework for youth development, we protect the organisation’s intellectual property, support the wider game and community programmes, undertake international development work and liaise with governing bodies and other leagues.

The Premier League is an equal opportunities employer and strives to create an inclusive culture where talent can flourish. We believe in the potential of everyone and open our doors to those who share those values. All appointments will be made based on merit; however, we particularly encourage applications from women, people from minority ethnic communities, LGBTQ+ people and disabled people.
