NFL UK & Ireland

NFL UK and Ireland first hosted a regular season NFL game in London back in 2007 and has since evolved into an important strategic and creative office for NFL International beyond the US.  Our vision, to be a leading sport for youth audiences, growing fandom our north star.  With the International Games a firm fixture on the UK and Ireland sporting calendar, and programs and initiatives including the NFL Academy (based in Loughborough Sport), the International Player Pathway, the Global Markets program, the NFL Foundation UK and NFL Flag, the team are at the heart of delivering an ambitious strategy to grow the game at every level.  2025 will see London once again host three International Games, two at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and one at Wembley Stadium.  The first International Games will also be hosted in Dublin, Ireland and Berlin, Germany and the NFL returns to Sao Paolo in 2025. 

 

Role Purpose

  • To support the development and implementation marketing initiatives and campaigns for NFL UK and Ireland with the core ambition of driving fan growth and engagement.
  • Support the marketing team across a range of disciplines and projects to deliver the objective of making the NFL a top followed League in the UK and Ireland.  We’ll do this by entertaining and engaging with our existing NFL fans and by attracting new fans to the game (especially those aged 12-24 years).
  • To be a valued member of the NFL UK and Ireland marketing team, playing your part to drive the League forward through boundary-pushing marketing, bringing fresh ideas, creative thinking, and energy.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the delivery of NFL UK and Ireland’s marcomms to target key audiences (specifically 12–24-year-olds) to raise awareness of the League, grow fandom, generate digital engagement, drive online viewership, support commercial initiatives and deliver strong fan communications.
  • Support the marketing team across all aspects of broadcast and media partner marketing, including content production, tune-in marketing campaigns, relationship management, key Sky initiatives (e.g. VIP and Business) and supporting the promotion of NFL Game Pass on DAZN to drive viewership and subscriptions.
  • Support the delivery of brand marketing campaigns across multiple channels and events, primarily focused around key season tentpoles.
  • Provide support and marketing expertise to UK and Ireland Global Markets Teams to maximize their impact in market.
  • Support and deliver a range of youth marketing projects, which includes the NFL schools program, university partnerships, gaming and various initiatives for NFL Flag Football.
  • Plan, develop and execute best in class 1:1 communications (email) with the aim of driving database growth, retention, and engagement.
  • Work with the digital team to deliver social campaigns, influencer initiatives and creative content for youth audiences across NFL UK and Ireland social media.
  • International Games – support the marketing team to deliver best in class fan experiences, campaigns, events, content, influencer activity and fan communications across the 2025 London Games.
  • Develop competitions and quizzes for a range of fan audiences on a regular basis. This includes managing NFL merchandise and prizes for the London office.
  • Brief and deliver marketing materials (e.g., digital assets) required to effectively support campaigns – creating high quality elements for relevant channels in a timely manner.
  • Take ownership for the in-market performance of campaigns, adjusting plans to reflect performance to yield the best result possible.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for NFL UK and Ireland, championing the League and driving collaboration inside and outside the organization.
  • Execute additional tasks as required to meet the changing priorities of the business.

 

 

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • 2 or more years of experience in marketing.
  • Sports or entertainment marketing/communications experience.
  • Interest or knowledge of NFL.
  • Experience in delivering marketing campaigns across multiple channels, such as email, web, social paid media, and experiential. 
  • Experience in project management and delivering multiple tasks to deadline.
  • An understanding of digital trends, social media and influencer marketing.
  • Ability to lead on projects and work collaboratively within cross-functional project teams.
  • Able to work on own initiative; accountable and dependable.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office and image-editing software.
