On Site Full TIme - WINONA, MINNESOTA JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for designing, specifying, cost-justifying, commissioning, and improving all machinery and work cells throughout the manufacturing operation. Also responsible for originating and implementing process/procedures, quality standards, and setting production rates/standards for all production areas. Manages both capital and non-capital projects to improve quality, productivity, and support operational strategies. Project focus may include new machinery, automation integration, facility layout planning, continuous improvement, compliance, production metrics, and other operations support.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate and drive continuous improvement tied to Key Performance Indicators.
- Work with operations personnel to originate, implement, and sustain Standard Operating Procedures, quality parameters, and other process parameters.
- Conduct studies and propose improvements to the overall process flow and spatial utilization based on Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Participate in Engineering functions such as prototyping, jig/fixture design and build, 3D modeling and drafting, experimentation, data collection, time studies, safety and quality assessments, and reports (e.g. Nonconformance, Capital Expenditure Authorization, Purchase Requisitions, Request for Quote, Process Sheets, Safety Training Checklists, and others)
- Manage high-profile Capital Expenditure and Process Improvement projects, leading discussions and providing liaison during cross-functional group meetings.
- Coach Supervisors and Team Leads in problem solving techniques. Foster a culture of ownership and confidence.
- Optimize overall lead time of the value stream, maintaining a customer focus.
- Engage regularly with operations staff on status of current projects as well as prioritization of new developments.
- Evaluate safety, ergonomics, and quality within the operations. Provide leadership and make decisions regularly.
- Utilize AutoCAD to develop facility layout drawings of production and support areas.
- Ensure the appropriate methodology, measurements, tools and quantitative techniques (e.g. data collection, simulation, statistics, process flow analysis, etc.) are applied in projects as appropriate.
- Communicate and collaborate with multiple levels of the organization on cross functional activities and report barriers, solutions, findings and action items to drive projects to completion.
- This position has no direct reports but has to have the ability to influence others across functional disciplines.
- Identify hazardous conditions and practices and immediately respond to (if trained) and report any unsafe physical conditions or unsafe work practices to site leadership.
- Treats others with respect and conducts themselves in a positive and inclusive manner daily.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Equivalent experience in Operations with a heavy focus on process improvement will be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience delivering operational results via engineering methodologies.
- Certification in Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement certification preferred.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Must have a well-rounded understanding of manufacturing process/procedures and best practices.
- Requires a demonstrated ability and proficiency in project management and delivery form strategy to execution.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-pace environment.
- Enthusiastic, full of positive energy and able to maintain grace, a sense of humor, and perspective under pressure.
- Innovative problem solving and common-sense decision-making; Confident and persuasive with decisions.

- Working knowledge of lean principles and problem-solving methods.
- Proficiency in business communication and verbal/written communication.
- Proficient in Standard Microsoft Applications
- Experience in Logistics, Distribution Centers, and Ecommerce
- Experience with Warehouse Management or Manufacturing ERP Systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Fusion 360, SWITCH, and others
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to participate in a team lift of 50 lbs.
- Able to sit, stand and/or walk for entire shift.
- Comfortable with frequent ladder use.
- Able to turn or bend.
- Able to crouch, crawl and climb.
- Able to grip/grasp frequently.
- Able to reach/pull frequently.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Generally works in an office environment with regular project work which may include:
- May work in a high noise environment.
- May work in a wet environment.
- May work indoors in a warm, humid environment.
- May work in a cold environment.
- May work in a dusty environment.
- May work in outdoors/non-climate-controlled environment.
- May handle or have exposure to chemicals, cleaning agents, and fumes.
- May work around machinery with moving parts.
- Required to wear long pants.
- Required to know & don PPE if applicable to work-center.
