Location: Panama

Department: Special Olympics Latin America

Reports to (supervisor): Director Marketing and Development

Position Summary:

Special Olympics is the largest global movement working towards full social inclusion of persons with intellectual disabilities through Olympic style sports and related health, education, leadership and youth initiatives. The Development and Partnership Manager will play a crucial role in securing funding for Special Olympics Latin America and will be responsible for and have experience in management, stewardship and relationship building with corporate and foundation partners. In addition, the Partnership and Development Manager will support new business development opportunities, including the solicitation and cultivation phase of new foundation and corporate partners, and the on-going management and stewardship of any newly secured partners. This position requires a highly organized and details.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential funding and partnership opportunities that align with the organization's mission and programs.
  • Manage and act as the primary relationship manager for designated corporate and foundation partners, including regular management of activities, promotions, cause marketing campaigns and fundraising, including regular communication and reporting
  • Assist in corporate and foundation development opportunities, including prospect research, proposal development and supporting solicitations
  • Act as a key communication liaison with, and support for, Special Olympics Latin America in relation to National Partner activation, reporting, and employee engagement activities and opportunities, as well as revenue generation opportunities at the Program level
  • Develop and write clear, compelling, and persuasive grant and partnership proposals and grant reports.
    • Work closely with program managers and other internal stakeholders to gather information necessary for partnership and grant proposals.
    • Collaborate with finance and development teams to ensure accurate budgeting and financial information in partnership and grant proposals.
    • Manage the full lifecycle of grant applications, including proposal submission, follow-up communication, and reporting requirements.
    • Maintain a comprehensive calendar of grant deadlines and deliverables.
    • Stay informed about trends in grant writing, fundraising, and the non-profit sector.
    • Conduct research on potential donors and grant-making organizations.
    • Communicate proposals requirements and reporting guidelines and ensure compliance from the operational teams.
    • Prepare and submit timely and accurate partnership and grant reports as required by donors.
    • Work cross-functionally across the organization including with the Sport, Youth, Health, Young Athletes, Organization Development and Communications departments;
    • Assists in the implementation of additional tasks as needed where applicable.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, communications, non-profit management).
  • Proven experience in fundraising and grant writing for non-profit organizations.
  • Strong research, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are

an asset.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Qualifications:

  • Language abilities an important added value and desired skills;
  • Ability to conduct cross-cultural communications to affect change and drive inclusion;
  • Database expertise and Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office
