APLA merchandising team; in particular Nike Factory Store (NFS) Merchandising, NFS Assortment planning, Consumer Merchandising and Consumer Planning. We also work with Global NFS merchandising team, APLA finance, and operations teams.

You will report to APLA Unite Merchandising Director.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Merchandising Manager to lead APLA Nike Factory Stores (NFS) Kids and oversee Jordan and Equipment (EQ) merchandising. You will create profitable, consumer-right assortments planned to capacity. You will be focused on driving strategies for the NFS business. The candidate will require leadership skills, strong business acumen, the ability to manage multiple seasons, and a deep understanding of trends and consumers. This position will require flexibility, curiosity, and comfort in ambiguity as you work with multiple stakeholders and Territories across the globe from Korea, Japan, Pacific, SEA&I, & LATAM.

We are looking for a people leader with the passion to develop talent, consumerists with an affinity for product that enjoy the energy of moving at the pace of retail and the consumer. A successful Merchandising Manager will deliver profitable, consumer-focused Rebuy assortments while balancing closeout opportunities for the overall Geography.

This role is responsible for adapting & curating consumer right assortments with end in mind for the Nike Factory Store business by using historical data, analytics and real-time market feedback to advise the future (coming seasons).

Merchandising Manager will lead Kids/Equipment/Jordan team and manage one direct report – Senior Buyer.

The candidate should possess retail competence and analytical abilities, understand retail environments, and bring a consumerist perspective to the team and business.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
  • A minimum of 6 years directly relevant work experience
  • 3+ years experience in footwear or apparel buying and/or merchandising, product creation and/or retail in a vertical, multi-brand or digital environment
  • Footwear, Apparel, Equipment or relevant consumer product buying and/or merchandising experience is preferable
  • Understanding of common retail and/or digital profit-based metrics such as sell-through, turn, ASP, UPT and others
  • Ability to contribute to and drive strategy into action

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You will plan the seasonal assortment to retail capacity in NFS. You will understand related aspects of the business and marketplace in making your plans; including coordinating between genders, business dimensions (Footwear, Apparel, Equipment) and how individual products or collections impact each other. You will collaborate cross functionally to ensure assortment plans meet consumer demand and brand strategies and hit the right balance between Rebuy and Closeout. You will influence Global merchandising team to make sure Global line serves APLA consumer needs. You will oversee the work of a Senior Buyer responsible for Jordan business in NFS.
