Reporting organisationally to the Overlay Senior Manager – Technical Infrastructure. The Containment Manager will be a key member of the FIFA26 Infrastructure & Technical Services team, to oversee containment plans and coordinate with multiple stakeholders at all Venues.

The main responsibilities and oversights of the Containment Manager for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ and FIFA World Cup 2026 include:

Design & Planning:

  • Coordinate FIFA’s contractors to develop comprehensive containment plans for all competition and non-competition venues, considering cable routes, capacity requirements, accessibility, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with venue managers, broadcast engineers, IT specialists, and other stakeholders to determine specific containment needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to highlight and determine design efficiencies, as well as opportunities to use existing infrastructure.
  • Produce detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications for containment systems, including cable tray layouts, conduit sizing, and support structures.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess existing infrastructure and identify potential challenges.
  • Manage the procurement of containment materials and equipment.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders and the wider Overlay/Technical team to help develop the detailed installation schedule for containment and track the implications, dependencies and requirements against access dates to the various spaces/venues.
  • Optimize containment designs for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and ease of installation and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and FIFA requirements.

Implementation & Management:

  • Oversee the installation of containment systems by contractors, ensuring adherence to design specifications and timelines.
  • Coordinate with other overlay disciplines (e.g., power, rigging, venue management) to ensure seamless integration of containment infrastructure.
  • Implement quality control procedures to verify the integrity and functionality of installed systems.
  • Manage and track changes to the containment design throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to containment systems, including as-built drawings and maintenance procedures.
  • Provide reports back to the central team on progress and performance.

Operational Support: 

  • Provide technical support during the event, troubleshooting any issues related to containment infrastructure.
  • Work with Overlay managers and suppliers to ensure solutions are being implemented correctly and in line with FIFA’s expectations and timings.
  • Coordinate with venue operations teams to ensure the ongoing functionality and security of containment systems.
  • Provide on venue support to the Overlay delivery teams, as part of the wider venue team, where required.
  • Manage the removal and decommissioning of containment infrastructure after the event.
  • Manage the remediation or coordination of remediation where required with the various stakeholders; suppliers, venue owners, local authories or space owners/users.

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage the budget for containment infrastructure.
  • Support with the design development and change management process against requirements and budget.
  • Oversee the work of contractors and manage their performance.
  • Track expenses and report on budget status.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Implement safety procedures to protect workers and event attendees.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture or similar

Work Experience

  • Planning and delivering Containment solutions at events, preferably sports events 
  • Previous experience in event productions
  • Supplier coordinator experience beneficial
  • Procurement and/or delivery experience beneficial 

Languages

  • Fluent in English. Spanish proficiency is a plus

Technology

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools. 
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
