The Maintenance Technician 2 is critical to safe and efficient Operations. The Maintenance Technician 2 will be required to perform Routine Preventative Maintenance, Mechanical and Digital Troubleshooting and Repairs of our Facility Production Equipment and Conveyance Systems. The Maintenance Technician 2 must take responsibility for the safety, quality and timely execution of these support services including the training and assistance of Maintenance Technician 1 as needed.
essential job functions:
- Completes Work Orders, Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Repairs and other written or computer-based documents.
- Diagnose Mechanical and Electrical problems using technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, Electrical/Mechanical Schematics) and diagnostic tools (e.g., multi-meter, laptop)
- Learn and utilize Print Factory, Wasatch, Esko and other technical programs.
- Troubleshoots and repair Motor Control problems on equipment with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Soft Starts, Servo Drives, and External Input / Output (I/O) Devices.
- Performs Preventative Maintenance and Repairs on Digital and Mechanical Production Equipment, Conveyor equipment, Building Equipment and PIT (Powered Industrial Truck).
- Completes assigned Engineering functions such as Prototyping, Experimentation, Data Collection, Time Studies Safety and Quality Assessments, and Reports (e.g. Nonconformance, Capital Expenditure Authorization, Purchase Requisitions, Request for Quote, Process Sheets, Safety Training Checklists, and others) with minimal support
- Effectively communicates issues and propose solutions to other Techs, Production Team Members as well as Leadership.
- May be assigned to Operate Digital and/or Mechanical Machinery as needed to assess and tune to maximize output, and/or to meet business needs.
- Performs general housekeeping and Continuous Improvement activities.
- Adheres to all Department and Company Standards, Operating Procedures and Safety Requirements.
- Notify leadership immediately of any observed compliance gap to codes, standards and regulations (state, federal, or local)
- Identify hazardous conditions and practices and immediately respond to (if trained) and report any unsafe physical conditions or unsafe work practices to site leadership.
- Treats others with respect and conducts themselves in a positive and inclusive manner daily.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL & Experience REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical Diploma or equivalent transferable experience required.
- 3 years of related experience/education in mechanical, electric and electronic operation and repair required.
- Minimum of 1 year Experience operating or repairing digital machines such as Printers, Cutters and Lasers
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Mechanical, Electrical and Motor Control Troubleshooting
- Diverse Fabrication Skillset including: lathe, vertical mill, drill press, surface grinder and welding.
- Proficient in MS Office, Basic AutoCAD and Fusion 360 skills
- Ability to consistently enforce LOTO and all other safety protocol
- Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
- Ability to work at heights from ladders and aerial lifts
- Maintain current certifications:
- Bloodborne pathogens
- PIT
- Respirator
- Fall protection
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to participate in a team lift of 50 lbs.
- Able to sit, stand and/or walk for entire shift
- Comfortable with frequent ladder use
- Able to turn or bend
- Able to crouch, crawl and climb
- Able to grip/grasp frequently
- Able to reach/pull frequently
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May work in a high noise environment
- May work in a wet environment
- May work indoors in a warm, humid environment
- May work in a cold environment
- May work in a dusty environment
- May work in outdoors/non-climate-controlled environment
- May handle or have exposure to chemicals, cleaning agents, and fumes
- May work around machinery with moving parts
- Required to wear Long Pants

The compensation rate is $25.00/hour which represents base pay only and does not include
short-term or long-term incentive compensation.
