Role Overview
As a Loss Prevention & Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in protecting our associates, facilities, and merchandise. You will partner with operations and support teams to reduce shrink, strengthen safety standards, and foster a culture where security and safety are top priorities. This role requires a balance of influence, leadership, and hands-on execution to drive results across both safety and loss prevention initiatives.
How you will make an impact:
- Cultivate a strong culture of safety and shrink reduction throughout the location.
- Influence and guide loss prevention programs that balance security with operational efficiency.
- Support the site leader with daily, weekly, and monthly loss prevention metrics and reporting.
- Conduct risk assessments, shrink data analysis, and safety evaluations to identify vulnerabilities.
- Manage and support security staff while maintaining physical security programs and best practices.
- Monitor behavior, investigate unusual activity, and leverage CCTV and reporting tools to mitigate shrink.
- Lead and support safety initiatives, including OSHA-required training, 5S audits, and accident/incident investigations using the 5 Why method.
- Partner with operations on corrective actions following incidents and audits.
- Provide immediate aid and assistance to associates, vendors, and visitors when needed.
- Train and coach associates on safe work practices, company policies, and regulatory compliance.
- Act as the location’s Subject Matter Expert on safety and security standards.
- Participate in cross-network projects to strengthen security and safety programs across Fanatics.
What you bring to the team:
- High school diploma required; additional training/certifications in loss prevention or safety preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of applicable experience in loss prevention, safety, or warehouse security.
- Wicklander-Zulawski certification and/or LPQ/LPC credentials preferred.
- Strong ability to self-manage, prioritize, and respond quickly to changing needs.
- Experience handling crisis situations with professionalism and composure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with leaders and associates at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CCTV and reporting systems preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment strongly preferred.
- Physical ability to stand for 8–10 hours per day, walk up to 10 miles daily, and lift up to 25 lbs. frequently.
