The Licensing, Regulatory Compliance & Government Affairs team (LRCGA) team is an internal service provider that supports Sportradar's fast growth by ensuring compliance with all gaming and betting laws and regulations. As a member of the LRCGA team, the Licensing & Regulatory Affairs Analyst, EMEA/APAC will be responsible for gathering, reviewing, summarizing and analyzing relevant new and existing laws, rules and regulations that apply to Sportradar’s products and services in the EMEA and APAC regions. The Licensing & Regulatory Affairs Analyst, EMEA/APAC will also be responsible for supporting the team in ensuring Sportradar receives and maintains its gaming and supplier licenses which includes drafting licensing applications for Sportradar group entities in the sports betting space, supporting with responses to requests by regulators regarding Sportradar’s operations, and maintaining a system of records and processes needed to optimize and scale Sportradar’s licensing efforts.

The Licensing & Regulatory Affairs Analyst, EMEA/APAC is directly involved in supporting the growth of the EMEA & APAC betting business for Sportradar, and is expected to master a foundational working knowledge of the EMEA & APAC betting market, including key market companions and industry legal issues, and apply organizational and administrative problem-solving to daily business matters for the same. The role will report into the Regional Head of Licensing, Regulatory & Government Affairs EMEA/APAC and will perform a variety of activities in support of Sportradar’s licensing and regulatory efforts.

THE CHALLENGE:

  • Tracking sports betting legalization legislative and regulatory efforts of new and existing EMEA & APAC jurisdictions with special focus on licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Helping develop and maintain our internal knowledge bank, mainly by conducting in-depth legal research and drafting related reports.
  • Drafting licensing applications for Sportradar group entities.
  • Maintaining a licensing software with the goal of optimizing and scaling administrative work associated with gaming and supplier license applications.
  • Organization and upkeep of official records, correspondence, and notices regarding Sportradar’s licensing activities in EMEA & APAC.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Sportradar’s products and services and advise on (i) regulatory and licensing issues for the same, (ii) adjustments of gaming and supplier license applications and subsequent renewals thereof, (iii) and go-to-market strategies surrounding the same.
  • Collaborate with members of the Global LRCGA team on licensing and regulatory matters and support where needed.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Experience with similar licensing and regulatory affairs matters is highly desirable.
  • Law degree/legal background strongly preferred.
  • Experience in compliance is an advantage but not required.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, research, administrative, and punctual skills; strong attention to detail is necessary.
  • In-house experience preferred; enterprise business experience in supporting a domestic and/or international legal team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business professionals and other in-house lawyers.
  • Willingness to work autonomously and independently, as well as part of a team, and exert ownership over the licensing and knowledge base administration.
