The Nike Global Materials Planning & Sourcing organization optimizes material supply to flexibly respond to consumer demand. WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

This role will report into the Materials Planning Director, Apparel & Accessories and work closely with the Global Materials Planning & Sourcing leadership team as well as the China Responsive program leadership team

  • China Geo Teams (Responsiveness Supply Planning, Merch)
  • Technology & Analytics
  • Materials Supply Chain Teams (Planning, Costing, Sourcing, Material Source Option, Materials Management) Partners
  • FW & AP Product Supply Chain Partners (Sourcing, Global Supply Planning, Partner Management)
  • AP and FW Product Creation Teams (GLAM, Materials Development)

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Lead, Materials Planning & Sourcing, China Responsiveness will lead Global Materials Planning's and Sourcing's support of Nike's China Responsiveness strategic initiative, which drives Nike China's materials responsiveness through materials localization, staging, and other lead-time reduction efforts. This role's key responsibilities will be balanced between tactical support of China Responsiveness materials demand-supply management and sourcing, while also partnering with the Global Materials Supply Chain Planning and Sourcing leadership team and cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement new strategies in service of responsiveness.

You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
  • A minimum of 6 years directly relevant work experience, in product creation, planning, sourcing or manufacturing preferred across either Footwear or Apparel & Accessories.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an innate tenacity and desire to tackle complex situations.
  • Ability to navigate through a complicated stakeholder matrix to achieve results and drive strategic decision making
  • Data driven decision making skills and ability to parse through multiple sets of complex information to make decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience influencing across different functional organiations
  • A strong growth mindset as this role is looking for a proactive, thoughtful self-starter who embraces and leads change through strategic, innovative solutions while driving clarity and accountability to manage a dynamic materials supply chain environment.
  • Ability to travel 5%

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role, you will lead and coordinate cross-functional efforts to optimize materials demand signals for China Responsiveness Apparel and Footwear products as a representative of both Materials Planning and Sourcing. You will analyze demand and capacity, ensuring on-time production from key vendors while driving sustainable sourcing changes. You will quantify the benefit of responsiveness strategies and drive data-driven decision making. As a subject matter expert, you will engage with stakeholders and may need to accommodate late-evening commitments due to time zone differences.

Future Capabilities Development:

  • Collaborate with the Materials Planning Director and Global Materials Planning & Sourcing leadership to identify gaps and opportunities in the current processes.
  • Create and execute strategies and capabilities for a responsive materials supply chain that ensures on-time delivery while managing inventory and costs.
  • Partner with Tech & Analytics teams to scope and develop new analytics and systems capabilities as needed.
  • Create and support vision for long-term China Responsiveness materials planning & sourcing operating model & org structure, supporting potential resource asks in future corporate planning cycles
