WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As a Lead Footwear Color Designer in Nike Global Football, this role collaborates closely with design partners across product design, color design, and graphic design. It also works cross-functionally with technical development, product management, and merchandising teams.

The position reports to the Sr Manager, Color Design, Nike Global Football.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for an exceptional Lead Footwear Color Designer to combine their experience, creative problem-solving abilities, and creativity to help create the future of Nike Global Football.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, art or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
  • 5+ years’ experience designing and developing innovative color narratives.
  • Passion for design.
  • A bold, thoughtful approach to risk‑taking.
  • Positive attitude and energy.
  • Strong collaborator who thrives in team environments.
  • Speaks up with courage to support both personal and team perspectives.
  • Open minded, actively listens, flexible, and curious.
  • Self‑starter with a drive for excellence.
  • Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, and trend as they relate to elevating the consumer experience.
  • Ability to translate consumer insights into compelling product solutions and narratives.
  • Active and proficient participant in the creative process and cross‑functional communication.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, plastics, and engineering materials is ideal.
  • Knowledge of knitting processes is a plus.
  • Ability to present new insights or seasonal concepts to small and large groups.
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Ability to build accurate 2D technical drawings (CADs).
  • 3D design program experience is a plus.
  • Experience with presentation programs such as Keynote, PowerPoint, and Acrobat.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

If this sounds like you, you will help lead the Nike Global Football Footwear design team in creating unique seasonal collections across Men’s, Women’s, and Kids’ product.

  • You will work closely with Footwear Design and Product Management to build engaging, trend‑driven narratives that meet the needs of our target consumers.
  • You will partner regularly with the Development team to communicate design intent, lead CAD creation, and review and refine samples.
  • You will collaborate with Product, Materials, and Graphic Design to shape the future of Nike Global Football.
  • You will develop comprehensive color storytelling and original content across seasonal product lines.
  • You will manage and design presentation materials and present concepts to teams and leadership.
