A BIT ABOUT THE INDPENEDENT SCHOOLS FA

Since its founding in 1986, the ISFA have been at the heart of the game within the independent sector, championing football as a force for opportunity, character, and community.

Over nearly four decades, ISFA has played a pivotal role in the growth of football across independent schools nationwide.

Their programme is wide-ranging and inclusive:

  • Competitions for girls and boys aged 11–18, culminating in prestigious Finals played at professional club grounds and at the home of English Football, St George's Park.
  • Festivals and tournaments that bring schools together in celebration of the game.
  • A National Representative programme, respected across the football community, where players proudly earn the honour of a national cap. Fixtures include matches against Academy teams from Premier League clubs as well as international fixtures against visiting school sides from Australia, Wales, and Scotland.
  • Supports the continued growth of intra-school house football, ensuring the game thrives at its grassroots within school communities.

ISFA is more than an organiser of fixtures—it is a forward-looking organisation committed to shaping the future of football in schools. By partnering with progressive, ambitious companies, they can grow the game further, inspire the next generation, and deliver meaningful value to those who want to be part of this dynamic sector.

A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of ISFA's commitment to good governance, it is keen to establish a group of expert individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds, industries and expertise to help enhance our work around equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).

This brand-new group will be a sub-committee of the Board, given the responsibility to strategically lead the organisation on all matters relating to EDI, and to enable the organisation to build, develop and live a Diversity Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP).

The DIAP will form the basis of work as the ISFA moves forward, and so they are looking to ensure that the right voices are around the table to maximise impact, and make football for all within the independent school football sector.

HOW TO APPLY

The Inclusion Advisory Board will launch in March 2026, however, recruitment will remain open during 2026.
