Freelance contract, April – September 2026

For our IRONMAN France in Nice, we are seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Project Coordinator - Volunteers (m/f/d).
Working with the operational team of Volunteers, you will be in charge of recruiting the volunteers, as well as planning and carrying out operational tasks related to events organized by the IRONMAN France company in the South West EMEA region. You will participate in six events (all except IRONMAN & IRONMAN 70.3 Nice and IRONMAN & IRONMAN 3 Vichy).
What You’ll Be Doing
Before the event, you will:
- Coordination (Lead) for IRONMAN 70.3 Les Sables d’Olonne Vendée and 5i50 & IRONMAN 70.3 Knokke-Heist, Belgium
- Define the various HR requirements for the event
- Recruitment, management, and creation loyalty of around 1000 volunteers/race.
- Strengthen the volunteer database (clubs / associations or individual volunteers).
- Prospection and promotion of events.
- Ordering and managing volunteer equipment.
- Assign positions and draw up job descriptions.
- Organization and planning of on-site volunteer/team leader gatherings.
- Creation of editorial and visual content.
- Create and send newsletters.
- Website and social network management.
- Answering email and phone calls from volunteers.
During the event, you will:
- Set-up and management of a volunteer area.
- Coordination and briefing of teams on site.
- Ensure an impeccable level of welcome and information for volunteers.
- Manage volunteer accreditations, equipment, and catering.
- Management of last-minute charges/needs.
What You Bring to the Team
- Good knowledge of the associative environment.
- Successful experience(s) in the events sector (in the management of a Volunteer Program would be a plus).
- Understanding of the overall implementation of a Volunteer Program and its operational requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interpersonal skills, good listening skills.
- Positive, unifying spirit, productivity, and responsiveness.
- Open-mindedness, empathy.
- Resistance to the pressure of mass events.
- Ability to carry out operational tasks in the field (setting up and dismantling areas).
- Proficiency in Office Suite.
- Work required during event periods of evening and weekend.
- Fluency in English required.
